Friends of mine want to drive into the States, but are wondering if you need to have your Ontario G license to do so, or if an Ontario G2 license is enough? If you know can you please respond and also send me a link to your info? It is greatly appreciated! thanks!

If you obey the restrictions of the G2 while in Detroit, the police will have no problem with the type of licence if they stop you for some reason. You might want to check with Michigan and see if they also have graduated licencing. If they do, your G2 may have a Michigan equivalent and you would have to obey those rules.

Nope. You have to have your G1. Anything else is considered a Learner's Permit and will not allow access into the US.
