This is my situation, my husband and I been trying to conceive our second baby for more than a year. I finally got pregnant and miscarried back in September/06. Doctor told us to wait 3 months before we start again. We haven't really tried, but ofcourse every so often we do have unprotected sex and ofcourse the thought has crossed our minds. I'm usually irregular, but have been getting my period reguraly after the miscarriage. But on December and January I didn't get it. On 1/27 I did a blood test. It came out negative. On 1/29, 2/2 and 2/5 I have done urine test. All negative. But I have been spotting brownish and very little. My breast are not swallen, I don't feel any nausia, but do feel constant pain in my back. I have been pregnant before, but I've been told that every pregnancy is different. I feel that maybe I did the blood test too soon. I never knew of blood results ever being wrong. Has anyone out there had the same problem?

If you have had both of these tests and the docs are saying no, then the probability of you being pregnant is slim to nill, but not completely gone. It is possible, but not likely. There are lots of reasons all of this could be happening. Stress is a major factor and can include all of the symptoms you are describing. If you aren't on any type of birth control, you can pretty well count on your periods being irregular. It's a natural thing. You could also have either a tubal pregnancy or possibly ovarian cysts. I had cysts and had the same symptoms. Women get them all the time, just most women don't have any type of pain associated with them, but there are a select few that do. There could be any number of things going on here, but my best guess is that you are probably just stressing out about this matter a little too much. Take some deep breaths and calm down. Don't let this bother you too much. If you go another couple of weeks and still don't have a period, consult your physician again. However, if you are experiencing any acute pain, that is your body's way of telling you that something is wrong and you should seek medical attention. I hope for your sake it is just stress dear. Good Luck!

It's pretty unlikely... the blood test is supposed to be good down to an HCG count of 5. A few women have HCG counts that are that low all the time. There's always the slim possibility of lab error, but your HCG levels should be high enough to measure if you got pregnant more than two weeks ago. Sorry to lower your hopes.

If you've been trying for a year, it might be time to talk with your doctor about why you aren't conceiving. Sometimes it is a fairly easy fix.

I do believe blood tests work the same as urine tests do. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. But they both detect levels of the hormone(sp?) HCG. If you're just freshly pregnant, or your body hasn't put out enough of the hormone for the tests to pick up, you'll get a false negative. Go to the doctor and have them do an internal exam. They'll be able to tell you for sure or not judging by weather your cervix has shut.

I'm sorry about your loss, I know the pain of trying to conceive and the anguish of every month's waiting--- I hate to say this but no I don't think you're pregnant- I believe the brownish blood is only the sloughing of old tissue in your uterus because your periods have been irregular and that could cause the discoloring- brown means old blood, red means fresh......see your gynecologist- only to make sure that your uterus is capable and ready and able to accept another child-- you may need a d/c to clean it out and get it ready---good luck to you and your husband---write us when you are pregnant again........

I'm 24 days late for my period...4 urine tests negative (even one at Dr's) Dr sent me for a blood test, and it came back negative. MY next period is due Feb 19th. MY Dr told me to wait and see what happens. If it doesn't come, then we'll have to explore further.

It could well be that your blood test was carried out too soon. Wait another week and do a HPT test. If you are pregnant it should show up by then. Best of luck... :>)

I would say wait another week or two, and get tested again. You might not have enough level of the hormones in your blood stream yet if you are pregnant.

a blood test is the most accurate way of knowing if your preggy or not. but in your case, you have to double check with your doctor.better have another test.

Unless they got your blood mixed up with someone elses I bet it's just hopefull thinking that is making you have symptoms. You would not have any symptoms if the baby hadn't implanted and you need implantaion to happen before you get any symptoms.
Good luck in getting your baby. Sorry for your loss as well.
