that doesn't sound good, are they going to induce labor?

What did the doctor say? It sounds like IUGR (intraunterine growth retardation) which means that the baby is small for dates.
They normally induce labor and take the baby because they can do more for him on the outside than allowing her to continue the pregnancy.First they will make sure his lungs are ready and if not, wil probably give steroids.
Good Luck

If the baby isn't growing, that means something is not right. The reason needs to be determined and the baby should probably be delivered asap!! The Dr. should be on the ball..if not, she needs to go to another one. This could be life or death for her baby.

The baby is small? Or is not growing, as in no longer has a heartbeat and has died? I'm sure the doctor gave her plenty more info. At this point they could deliver a preemie and it could have a good chance of surviving. Good Luck.

Did she have an ultrasound or was it just that her belly measurement was the same? That can happen - still measuring the same a month later - sometimes it happens because the baby is in a strange position.

i hope the doc have admitted her. If he made that statement then he has got to maintain your brother's girl friends needs. She will feel emotional and confused on what to do. Tell her to go to the hospital to get a scan to determin the problem.

Im sorry to say, this doesn't sound good. It may that your partner will miscarry. I sincerely hope not, I too have had this happen and I would not wish it on anyone. Be strong for her and best of luck to you both and your little one... :>)

OK, but it may be full term and they could've messed up the dates. dont worry until you really have something to worry about.
