And will there truly ever be peace there? What say you?

"After the massive riots three years ago, the EU gave up its postulate "standards before status." The EU is no longer demanding that the democratic rules of engagement be established and minorities protected before the status is determined. Since violence was rewarded with political concessions, one can possibly expect a new escalation of violence if all the demands of Kosovo Albanians are not met. The international peace/keeping troops have been placed on heightened alert.

Yes Kosovo will have full Independence shortly. And yes there will be peace in Kosovo once the smoke settles.

The Albanians are not in Serbia proper trying to grab Serbian lands but in lands that their forefathers roamed on. Violence rewarded with political concessions? I think not. The Albanians have been deprived of the basic human rights for the longest and they have had enough. The freedom fighters of the KLA took up arms as a last resort after many years of stale progress from Rugova's non-violent policies. The Albanians have faith in the new world order but if their demands for basic human freedoms and total separation from Serbia are not met then violence and another armed uprising in within boundaries of reality. Look at things from their point of view. How can you trust a government or people that have robbed, killed, raped and plundered for so long? If Puerto Rico wanted independence from the US and voted overwhelmingly for it, we need to respect their wishes as a free people and grant them what they want. The Serbia claim to Kosova is weak. KOSOVA has always been Albanian in character.

First of all, it's Kosovo, not Kosova.
Second, the article is right: violence is rewarded with political concessions.
They don't have rights on Kosovo just because there is so many of them and never heard of contraception. They flooded Kosovo because there is so many of them. In whole ex-Yugoslavia, the most poor region was Kosovo. Ever heard of albanian culture? Any of it? From Kosovo or Albania?
If those people deserve indipendence, let them be. Things will come in order one day, I don't doubt. Kad-tad.

It's just like some Chinatown in USA wants independence. But if USA, Britain and others like that way, we'll see what will happen in Texas, Ireland and other parts of their countries soon. It's very dangerous way.
