Langkawi Island - Its a small island north of Malaysia.
Lots of nice beaches & tropical rainforest (waterfall etc2)
Nice calm beaches, white etc2.
Scenic spots.
-Cable car up to Matchinchang Mount.
-Island Hoping where u can go around the island.
-Eagles nest areas.
-Natural waterfall & sunset at beaches.
-Lots of mosque, night market & stuf.
-legendary/ history places..
-no tax shopping area.
U must at least spend around a week to complete all the fun..

it is beautiful indeed, been the there few times. here few good place is worth to go:-
1) "Gunung Mat Chingcang", Take a cable car and enjoy the beautiful view surrounding, then walk on the suspension bridge hanging between 2 peaks and enjoy the thrill. lastly enjoy the sunset from the peak, magnificent.
2) Go island hopping, the are 3 main attraction island there. one of the is called tasik "dayang bunting" where the is a lake in the middle of the island is fresh water and the island is surrounded by sea water. it is also know as the maiden lake.
3) Go eagle feeding. you can feed the eagles the in the wild while riding on a boat.
4) Go shopping, the whole island is tax free. can buy very cheap liquor and chocolates
5) Many beautiful beach surrounding the island, you can go to "Pulau Payar" island near by for snorkeling.
Above is just a few places, there are many more attraction in langkawi. many foreigner go there for vacation.

I thought it was completely over-rated. I much much prefered the Perhentian Islands on the east coast. Once you've been there, Langkawi is but a vague shadow of paradise. The sea far off the west coast is much rougher, so the water closer to shore is quite cloudy, while on the east coast, it is crystal blue.
Plus there was a summer heatwave, which by Malaysian standards meant it was like wandering about in a sauna (45C plus!).

I would say it the best place for vacation. It is combination of beautiful beach and great shopping experience. The island is a duty free zone which mean imported item might be cheaper form oher places in malaysia

well, like some other have said. cheap shopping, OK beaches and but overall a rather nice place for an island getaway

Pulau REdang is even more beautiful n scenic with wonderful coral...clear blue water!

yep. when i was four. i remember a hotel with a carousel and seeing some parrots and going to the beach. it was fun
