how do we know that, if they cover their faces? They cover them to improve their chances of a fair trial. Innocent until proven guilty. They never hide their faces once the trial is over, only during the arrest

If they were proud enough to do the crime, they should be proud enough to hold their heads up for the cameras when they're caught. But alas, criminals are usually just scared puppies when they're caught, despite all their bravado that made them think they could get away with it.
