They will be making PS2 games for many, many years. There are more than 200 million systems sold worldwide, and there will be companies selling games into that marked for a long time. Of course, the number will get fewer and fewer, and the quality likely lower and lower, but there will still be releases.

Many older, much less successful systems, like the Atari Jaguar, still have releases coming out from small companies or home developers. For example, here's a link for a new Jaguar game that was released in 2004, nine years (!) after Atari stopped making the Jaguar:

The Jaguar sold only 250,000 systems. With so many PS2's out there, there will be plenty of games for years and years.

I think you're good for another 2 years (2007, 2008).

The thing is they won't just stop. They will start slowing down with less and less titles coming out. If anything I think they will start slowing down mid-way through 2008 at the earliest.

I saw an interview with one of the head sony guys and he said they arent going to stop making games anytime soon. The PS2 is still their number one seller so they arent just going to abandon it.

Why do you care? A lot of people have the PS2 and if you don't, then why would you even ask about it? If you do, you should be happy to get more games.
