If you are referring to a chemical or "medical" abortion that is committed after you have already determined that you are pregnant, yes, there is a chance you may be rushed to the hospital if you take it. At least 11 women have died so far after taking it. Here are the details:

The "abortion pill" works by destroying the source of the baby's nourishment, the placenta. The baby starves to death inside the womb. A second chemical is given to cause hard contractions to push the baby out of the body. This is very painful, bleeding is excessive (one woman lost 1/2 to 2/3's of the blood in her body and was saved only by transfusions), and takes an average of 9 days. Sometimes, parts of the baby are left in the womb, where they can rot and cause infection. This is what happened to 18-year-old Holly Patterson in California, who died from a chemical abortion several years ago.

If you are referring to morning after pills, no you will not be rushed to the hospital. They can make you pretty sick though.
IF you are doing something on your own to try to abort a fetus that is more than a few days old, then yes-you will most likely end up in the hospital.

I suggest no pills be taken. The morning after pill will not cancel your pregnancy and the Abortion pill will only help you if you are not yet pregnant. I suggest that you take the time to consider putting your baby up for adoption, I was once in your situation and to this day it still haunts me with the decision that I made. I hope that you will reconsider and have your baby so that another family will be able to be loved.

i dont ave an answer for you but i had to respond to kristin even though she will probably not read it...
it is easy to say "just give birth then give the baby up for adoption"
have you ever had to do this? Have a baby grow inside of you for 9 months, feel if growning and moving inside of you adn know that it depends on you. develop the attachment bond then have to give the baby away and wonder if the baby is going to be happy or if she will always be resentful to you for giving her away to strangers even if it was for her best??
well i have been in that situation and i know how heart breaking it can be to look at you child and have to decide no, i am not giving her up. then have to break the hearts of the prospective family and have to feel guilty every time you daughter smiles at you because even though you dont regret the decision to keep her, it kills you to know that you even considered giving her up...
but like you said...just give birth then give the baby up...

Don't murder a baby - just give birth and put the baby up for adoption.

You will live with terrible guilt and regret for the rest of your life if you kill this child. (not to mention you'll have a 50% increase of risk of breast cancer, and you may not be able to bear children in the future - just to name a couple things...)

I think you need to go to the doctor or family planning clinic and not try anything on your own.
