Yes I do think they should pay more taxes
I don't think they are anymore of a citizen than anyone else
In order to treat everyone equally (access to medical help etc.) those who have more money suplement those with lesser income.

Being rich gives you more access to tax investing and income deferals so they benefit in some way over poor people. The fact that some can buy a house for cash and not have to 3 x the value in interest payments saves them money etc..

Taxes on meals are a good example. A poor person buys a hot dog and a rich persons buys a $50 steak. taxes are highre on the steak meal. Why because they can afford it.

Being rich is a combination of luck, skill, being at the right palce at the right time, inheritance, etc..
Last time I looked slavery was abolished and America was the land of opportunity. Along with opportunity comes corporate responsibility and with that you have taxes. Being rich doesn't give me or anyone else the right to pay for services and to bad for someone else.

Those who prosper more pay a higher percentage of their incomes in taxes, but not some much that they don't have the opportunity to enjoy their good fortune. It does not make them more of a citizen than others (see Declaration of Independence). The reason rich people pay more in taxes is to fund programs that we need, like roads, national defense, and programs to help people become more prosperous and self-reliant. Also, they pay more taxes so the politicians can waste the money on pet projects in their home states so they can get elected again. The system is not exactly perfect.

Everyone should pay the same percentage of taxes, but not the same amount. Thus, if you make 7.00 and hour, the sales tax is going to be much higher for you than some Lawyer out there making $200.00 per hour.

So, I guess my answer to your question is yes. Rich people should pay higher taxes. But they should pay the same percentage as everyone else.

What? My parents complain about all the taxes that they have to pay. I personally think for the good of our country should pay taxes to fund programs to help the poor and less fortunate. I have no problem in paying taxes knowing that my streets are going to be fixed or our Army can have biscuit and chicken for dinner

I don't believe anyone should be looked at as more of a citizen, regardless of wealth. But, I do agree, that small, very small percentage of wealthy people in this country should not be allowed any tax breaks. If anything they should be made to pay more. They have been making out like bandits for years.

Rich means many different things to many different people! You need to put a Number to this in definition in order to precisely drawn the line! You obviously are a Republican & would run an add in the newspaper looking for cheap labor saying meaning-less lure's like good-pay great benifits etc! Taxes are for suckers at any level!

The people who get the most from tax money are A) the homeless, extremely poor, and people unable to provide for themselves, and B) the Rich. Since (A) can't pay taxes, they get it from (B).

Yes, they should because they have more. Because the higher the income bracket, the more taxes people have to pay. YOU RICH, you pay. YOU POOR, there isn't anything to pay on...so you get back for supporting your family. Make sense? If you're poor and have to pay as much as a rich man...you'd be paying government for the privilege of working. That does not make sense.

Yes, they should. They make more money, they should pay more taxes. Granted, some may work harder and the money is well deserved, but many are just spoiled rich pricks. If they can afford a dozen cars, fancy houses, and all that other crap, they can afford more taxes when poorer people who can't even afford a car has to.
