For me its the other way around...if they say zero it sounds weird to me.

It doesn't bother me but i use and prefer 'zero'. More straightforward and less confusion when it comes to taking phone numbers, credit cards, etc as I work in customer service as far as practicality. Also 'o' is a letter ;P

Yes, thats funny....I always thought I was the only one. I always say 24(zero)356. Instead of 240356. And it bothers me when people don't. Glad you asked.

Well, suppose your nickname is Duck.
Now, in a phone conversation your friend gives you an address: 100 Viaduct by speaking each digit of the integer; 1 0 0 Viaduct: So you hang up because you heard: one oh oh bye duck.
You thought something happened and he had to go.

Not at all, I do it all the time. A lot depends on where you are from.
Yawl used to get me crazy because I moved from the East coast to the West. Now, I just accept that people have different ways of speaking.

Ha! I feel your pain. It bothers me when people say one-hundred AND 4 for 104. When the "and" should only be there for a fraction. It ought to be one-hundred four. Hmm...

Not really. It's just easier to say the letter "o" when reading off a list of numbers (phone #, credit card #, etc.) since it only has one syllable.
