Once again a player has proven to me that athletes are in it for the money. Tyrus Thomas from the Chicago Bulls was quoted as saying that all he is interested in the slam dunk contest is the money. He later apologized for his comments after the team fined him $10,000. Yeah Tyrus we accept your apology (whatever) this apology has no meaning whatsoever. I'm sick of all these uneducated players thinking that they're all that just because they are in the NBA. You should be honored to be part of something this big. Tyrus Thomas goes down as a greedy, uneducated, selfish person in my book and I look forward to seeing him score only 3 points per game ( A real All-Star). Tell me what you think.

Whats really sad for Thomas is the fact that he'll be a washed up nobody in a couple of years and will have to use that education, I mean Edumacation as he prolly would say to better himself in life! Can we say college dropout! Thomas, Shut up and take advantage of life long dream that you have and use your talent not your stupdity!

I agree with you but at the same time you have to remember that unfortunately the slam dunk contest has become a joke. It seems like no one wants to be a part of it any more. Lebron has never done it and D-Wade has never done it. I think if you got stars like these two to do it other players, especially younger ones like Thomas, may take the contest more seriously.

i agree with you. players like tyrus thomas provide further fuel to the critics who point out that NBA players today are all about the money. players like him are the ones tarnishing the great game of basketball.i think the 10k fine was not sufficient enough.. it was just a dumb mistake on his part to say such a thing... wheres your head, tyrus? what would you stand to gain from saying such a statement?
