give the tiger momentum and i've seen 'em take down a baby elephant...
Bengal Tiger = 200kg
Horse (so many varieites) anywhere from 300 to 900 kg.
Do the math momentum = mass * velocity.
So if a horse is standing still, a Bengal Tiger say (an educated guess) runs at 60 kph (cheetah's around 97 kph)
so 200kg * 60kph = 12000 kg* km/hr units of momentum
So if the heaviest Horses (900kg) are running at less than 10 kilometers/hr (in the opposite direction of course), then yes, the tiger will knock it down.
If the horse running between 10-13 km/hr then the horse will probably fall back...about 13 km/hr (20 miles/hr) then they both stand still...
btw these calculations assume only the momentum aspect, and not the tiger's ability to trip the prey, and jump on the neck, making the horse lose balance....
and they also don't take into account the horse's ability to recognize a threat and accelerate...if the horse sees the tiger...there's no way cuz the horse will blaze past the bengal tiger...unless its in water cuz the bengal tiger is a FAST swimmer

I'm not so sure if the Bengal Tigers can knock down a horse, nor is it powerful enough to knock down a horse.

I don't know if it could knock it down, but I'm sure it can bring it down. I doubt Bengals often get a chance to hunt a horse, but in a similar circumstance, lions can bring down zebras fairly easily. Lions are a bit smaller than tigers, and zebras are smaller than horses... so, relatively speaking, I would imagine that since a lion can bring down a zebra, a tiger could bring down a horse.

There is a video on the web showing a tiger killing a huge crock. I wouldn't mess with a tiger. Especially if I were a crock.
