That's a popular right wing fiction.

Actually, he improved it, and Bush Administration people know it. One of the said, "You go to war with the military your predecessor built", and the US Military did exceedingly well in the "real" phase of the war, using Clinton's military. The fact that they did exceedingly poorly with the occupation does not change this fact. That is a problem with policy coming from the top, and not a reflection on the ability of the military as a fighting force.

The burden of proof is on the one making the assertion. I will point out one thing. The military that went Afghanistan and later Iraq was not built up by the Bush administration. There simply wasn't enough time.

We had some ups and downs. I've been in 23 years...joined under Reagan and am still serving.

I think when Clinton entered office and when he left it....we had the greatest fighting force the world has ever known.

Apparently you don't know the meaning of the word "decimate." It means to reduce by 1/10th of the original size. Did Clinton reduce our armed forces by 1/10th of their size when he took office? No. In fact, the size of the US armed forces was 12% higher when he left office than when he took office.

So you are absolutely wrong stating that he "decimated" the US armed forces. He, in fact, grew our armed forces.

English is a wonderful language -- you should learn it.

Actually, despite some base closings, the Clinton administration built up the military in both men and in technology. Don't assume that liberal=anti military.
