Since many transgendered persons consider themselves trapped in the wrong body and are not homosexual why are they lumped in with gay men, lesbians and bisexual men and women? They should have their own catagory. The reason I stae not homosexual is due to the high number getting media attention the past few years that while being men and having sex with men state they are women trapped in men's bodies and will continue having sex with men after their sexual reassignment surgery. So to me they are not gay at all- they have a treatable condition and they don't belong lumped in with homosexuals. It should be GLB or LGB (after all ladies first).

Okay...today I agree. Ladies first is a good rule.

Regardless as to what a situation "seems" to be, sexual contact between two people of the same gender IS homosexual in nature regardless of the mental perception of the participants.
Considering that transgender people go through the very same discrimination and harassment that all of the LGB crowd does there is a very good reason to include them.

The transexuals I know are gay. for the men they favor men. which is why they want a sex change because they feel like they're women. until they have the sex change then most (well the ones I know) sleep with me.

Which at times I put an "S" in it and add str8's to it. which will make it LGBTS.
GLBT is mostly used by men and LGBT are mostly used my lesbians and so on and on.

First off, there are a good number of gay transsexuals- lesbian transsexual women and gay transsexual men. Even though they get less recognition in the media and it's perceived that there are higher numbers of straight transsexuals, the numbers are probably more equal, with a slightly higher amount of heterosexual ones.

Yes, being transsexual is definitely different from being gay or bisexual. But I believe the GLBT umbrella is shared not because of our common nature (we have no common nature; gay is about sexual orientation and trans is about gender identity), but because of our common experiences: we are viewed as outside the mainstream. Many non-mainstream sexualities have found comfort under the queer umbrella, like straight leatherfolk and BDSM practicioners, 'queer' straights, straight polyamorists, straight nudists, you name it. What unites us is not what we like to do in bed or what gender we feel we are, but that mainstream society oftentimes marginalizes us all because we are not like them. For us to band together makes us strong in order to show sex and gender diversity; we'd have far less power in separate, segregated groups (not to mention it seems pretty hypocritical for people who were themselves shunned from society). We have similar experiences of oppression, discrimination, invisibility and marginalization, and we come together because of this.

Hope that helps!

First, learn a few things about the group you're questioning. Your definition of the "T" is old and wrong.
