I did, so now I am.

Yes, I've been to London and I was suprised by how most people seemed to live, I'm from Lisbon and I think the balance is better here, of couse rich neighbourhoods in London are a lot more luxurious than here, but you also see more people living in misereable conditions. I'm not an economist, but I suppose that some few have all the conrol over all the money and it isn't shared because the haves invest more and have allways more profit and the have-nots just dont have enough to invest so they allays pay their bills with no profit.

Although it really is the economy they are speaking about, the poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer. The tax system should be completely rehauled especially for the fat cat directors who get millions of £s' of bonuses from the utility companies that used to be state run and don't do enough to make sure that everything is running properly on the floor.

I feel the same, even though I was taxed at a higher rate in other countries I still had a lot more in my pocket after the tax man had taken his cut in other countries. Britain seems to empty your pockets at every opportunity. The cramped flat I'm in just now costs the same as an amazing house in tropical Australia on the beach, surrounded by rainforest.
This is exactly the reason I'm moving to another country in two years time, the UK sucks.

Yes money is very unfairly distributed!! We pay extra taxes and get told it is to make improvements but i never see any improvements. To me it looks like the money just goes on increasing the wages of people who already earn enough that they do not need any more!!

When they say rich, they don't mean we are rich as individuals. They mean the country as a whole is rich, with assets, strong economy, etc.

Its this Labour Government ripping us all off with stealth taxes.
Incidentally if you are that disillusioned with the UK why not move abroad? No one is going to miss you here.

the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. This is what happens when you have unbridled capitalism.
