First and foremostall who disagree should come with a better argument than a bucch of words and reconstructed pictures. That is for children. please. this is 2007. you can either let the world know how smart you are or how stupid you are with your evidence. Stop with all th computer generated images and cartoons! you prove that you are liars when you do not come with evidence of any substance! For those who whites who agree and say what's your point. What was the point of your fore fathers presenting false information to the world. So don't get mad at the fact that truth is truth, You make yourself seem racist. evidence: http: www.catchpenny.org/race.html

According to your logic Mr. 29, the European people who now occupy America are the original people of this land. Not the Natives whom the Europeans slaughtered.

Clearly some Pharaohs were black. (Taharqa and Tanoutamon ruled Egypt as well as Nubia. Sometimes known as the "Black Pharaohs," Nubian kings ruled Egypt from roughly 760 B.C. to 660 B.C).
One thing is clear - Egyptians considered themselves Egyptian. They portrayed themselves differently in their own art works than they portrayed peoples from other parts. Nubians (from today's northern Sudan) were clearly represented differently than Egyptians with what most would consider "black" features.
Egypt was also conquered by Persia, Macedon, and Rome. As well, as an empire it had fairly vast trade routes and also used the practice of hiring mercenaries from foreign lands. So I'm sure that there is a lot of stuff in the mix there for anyone looking at genetics.
Lastly, Black, White, Purple, whatever - genetically we are all the same.

i do not ideas if God is black. i do not understand how the eyeliner they wore might want to take position on very darkish epidermis. i understand they were keen on make up. it really is for particular that no longer all Egyptians were cracker white. i do not ideas if the Egyptians were black yet they look more effective tan like Arabs or Indians. i imagine you're making a valid interest about an historic African kingdom.

They were black, many people will try to say that the ancient egyptians were not black because they painted themselves as brown and not black. Thats so stupid because black people are not black-we come in different shades of brown-I have never seen a black-black person. Like I said we come in all shades of Brown just like the Ancient Egyptians painted themselves in all shades of brown! The word black mostly means our culture and features- Like our full lips-which the ancient egyptians had, Our braided, cornrowed, black hair- which the egyptians wore, Our many beautiful shades of brown- which the egyptians used to painted their selves in- Our love for gold and other jewelry-which the ancient egyptians also loved-Go to a black neigborhood, you'll see nothing but cats-Just like if you were to visit ancient egpyt. Oh yeah We come from Africa-Like Egypt! If that doesnt tell you they were black, I recommend seeing a counselor or something!

Why does it matter if the genetic experts are white? Or "White" as you put it. You can read a million different opinions on the subject but look at their paintings. Why did they portray themselves as a deep reddish brown people, not black? I would tend to go with the evidence of what they left behind.

Names and/or sources please. You can't just throw out a statement that tries and refute centuries of belief that the Egyptians were similar to semetic peoples without offering some form of study or proof. There were a few Nubian pharohs, but no they didn't buid the pyramids. Travelling down the Nile is difficult due the number of rapids (cataracts along its length). Every historical account have heard claims the ancient Egyptians travelled into the area from what is now the western sahara, but what was then a massive savannah. Tomb paintings are good at showing the color of those invloved, and never show sub-saharan africans, but sandy colored semetics. IN the end this is a pointless argument, and ther is no reason to try to turn this into a race based issue, because the peoples of the Hindu Kush and Nubia were not the african who were enslaved and brought to america, they were a totally different culture entriely.
Below is a picture of the peoples from Nubia and the HIndu Kush{NOT EGYPTIANS}... (First Source)
The second source shows ancient Egyptian farmers (commoners) at work.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently you are unable to comprehen just how long humans have occupied this planet. The Egyptians are thought to have traveled from the western sahara, not from north america. I have no idea how you misinterpreted what I said, but you managed to. The oldest Egyptian settlement found so far is not along the Nile, but along the Fayum Lake area and dates from around 7000 years ago.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Since early neolithic times there existed two distinct but closely related types, a northern in Middle Egypt and a southern in Upper Egypt" The southern, more sub-saharn african group was absorbed according to your source forming a mixed group in southrn Egypt.
"the northern type prevailed all over Egypt, as far south as Denderah, till the end of the Roman period"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The identity of the first pharoh can not be proven. Possible individuals have names including Nar-Mer, Scorpion(Based on Pictographic representation), Narmer, Aha, Meni and Menes. http://www.touregypt.net/ebph5.htm

In the end what does it matter. Almost nobody on this site is the descendent of these people. Europeans aren't and even African Americans aren't. If you are trying to find your earliest roots I hate to say it, but your looking in the wrong place. The slaves were bought and captured along the aply namd Slave coast on Africa's west side. Determining what the ancient Egyptians race was is impossible to tell due to the influx of peoples into the region during Egypt's long history.
When you relize how long the empire lasted, and how many different cultures and peoples moved into the are you can onl conclude that the pre-dynastic egyptians were not the new kingdom egyptians as far as race goes. To be totaly honest all we can say is that they were Egyptian. Lower Egypt had a different race from upper Egypt and in the end the two blended into an undistinguisable race of people. The Egyptians wouldn't have exaggerated the skin tone of the Kushites and the Nubians if their skin was the same the color as the Egyptians. The images of Tutenkahmen as black, literally black, may have ben gifts from the subjegated people of NUbia who painted him as one of there own.
