all kinds, World of Warcraft is made up of many people, not just one type, so your question will vary with each person. I personally prefer rock.

I'll bet the music WoW players listen to is as varied as the people you run across playing the game. Considering there's 8 million people playing, I imagine you'll find people who like everything from polka to klezmer.
I love music and will listen to basically everything, minus country.
The Beatles are my number one, but I also rank OutKast, R.E.M., The Crystal Method, Gorillaz, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Rage Against the Machine and The Black Crowes as some of my top bands.
60s, alternative, rock, some rap, lots of techno, jazz, brit pop... if its out there, i probably listen to it.
as for Warcraft, I've 3 mid-60s, and a passel of alts.

Well, I generally listen to symphonic power metal. Bands such as Rhapsody (renamed to Rhapsody of Fire, but their first 6 or so albums are under the name Rhapsody), Freedom Call, Avantasia (my current favorite), Thy Majestie, Falconer, Luca Turilli, Gamma Ray, Angra, Manowar, Virgin Steele (I don't like their Visions of Eden album though), and Symphony X represent the music I enjoy most. I like the fantasy-oriented story lyrics mixed with orchestra and metal. It has an epic sound that is worthy of hearing. I also like metal with some gothic elements, a la Nightwish and Saviour Machine. Still epic, but a little different variety than the previous bands I mentioned.

I listen to almost every type of music.. Everything from AC/DC to ZZTop my friend :)
My favorite stuff to listen definently has to be Jimi Hendrix, Outkast or The Roots
I don't like country music though. And I think most of the stuff they play on the radio nowadays sucks.

Like other people who have answered this question said, with so many people playing WoW, it takes all kinds. I listen to everything from metal to classical while I play depending on how I feel. Personal fave songs:

"Science Genius Girl"
"La Tortura"
