I have just started this today, this is her first nap of the day and I put her in her crib, I thougt that by putting her in her crib she will notice that crib means sleep and will be able to sleep better in the night ( I have an other post about sleeping all night) Is it a good idea to put her in her crib for nap time? Thank-you.

Yes, put her in her crib for sleeping during a nap and a night. It definitely lets her know that her crib is for sleeping. It creates good habits for you and her.

My son sleeps in a play pin instead of a crib but i use it for naps and night time and he has learned that if he is in that play pin it means that it is time for bed it was kind of rough for that first the days and nights but after that he goes to sleep right away even without a bottle and he is on a strict plan for the day and it makes my life so much easier i can plan things around his nap it and if say he has to go to the doctor i know what times he can go that dint interfere with his nap time and so he is a much happier baby if i was you i would most definitely do it

Absolutely! Try to build up a routine before napping and before bedtime so she has no doubt of when she is supposed to go to sleep. I would also suggest to put her in her crib for napping at the same time every day. Once she gets used to her "schedule" you can organize your own activities around the house or work without sacrificing the time you can both share.

Yes it is! You've got the right idea - putting her there for a nap will help her learn crib = sleep. It can be hard to transition at first, but keep at it and you will both be more comfortable in your routine.

For awhile my baby would only ever sleep in his bouncer chair. We had to make the switch to the crib so we could both rest better and longer, it's really paid off :)

Yes... Put the baby in the crib. Just make sure there is no objest in the crib and that you keep checking up on the baby. But yes the more the baby is in the crib the better!

Yes, it's a good thing to do this. It may take a few times but she'll eventually get the cue that it's nap time.

With our daughter, we weren't good about doing this. She was our first and we were "nervous nelly" parents. She got sick when she was 4 months and we had her sleep in our room. It was a battle when we wanted her to sleep in her own room and her own bed.

With our son, we put him in his crib from day one. He's almost two now. When we put him in his crib, he knows it's time to sleep. He doesn't fuss, doesn't cry, and doesn't throw a fit. It's a dream! I'm so thankful that my husband refused to allow him into our room. LOL.

My brother is having the problem of they hold my niece whenever she sleeps. Even the daycare lady during the day holds her. No one gets any free time.

Good luck!

I don't. I let my baby nap in the living room were I am during the day. So that way come night time he knows its time for LONG sleep vs a nap. It seems to be working He sleeps about an hour at a time during the day and sleeps 5-7 hours at a time at night. That's what we do, but to each there own. My baby is 3 months. Good luck!
