WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO THIS_SPOT TEST SOMEWHERE YOU CAN'T SEE IT

Ammonia gets blood out. Dab it on, don't rub DAB It should come right out, especially if it is fresh.
Keep using fresh paper towels or rags (rags will work better)
Good luck

Use some cold water with salt in it and gently dab away (without soaking the couch). It should soon begin to appear to spread out which means you are moving it and just keep going at the stain. Use a cotton wool ball and change when it becomes stained.

Goo Gone works wonders. We use it at the hotel i work at everyday. It removes many other things as well as blood stains. After you use it you cant tell there was a stain to begin with. Below is information on what Goo Gone cleans. Also there is a link to buy the product in the sources section.

Goo Gone® safely removes: gum, tar, crayon, fresh paint, tree sap, oil and grease, blood, ink, asphalt, scuff marks, tape and tape residue, makeup, lipstick and mascara, adhesives, candle wax, kitchen grease, shoe polish, soap scum, bumper stickers, duct tape, bicycle chain grease

it would depend on what the couch is made of............mine is leather and I have a leather care kit that comes with a stick that you can remove blood and ball pen with..........

Like a lot of the above replies do ANY test area in a space that is not seen, if the material is NOT cloth then maybe one of those magic erasers, have used them on LOTS of things and with great results and no damage.

My brother and sister got in a fight, which ended up with a bloody nose. The cops came and he told me to clean the carpet with Hydrogen Peroxide. It really did the trick.

I wont even ask why it has blood stains but all carpet cleaners have a special chemical which can remove red stains.
