He's not going anyplace. He'll throw up his usual great numbers, have a few "Manny being Manny" moments, demand to be traded at least twice more before the post-season and nothing will change.
Business as usual on Planet Manny.

Manny will stay in Boston until he has one year left in his contract. Right now the price for a trade is too high. Boston will be looking for at least 3 prospects or one veteran and a prospect. By the time his contract is ready to expire, other teams that are in the playoff push will be looking for a rent a player in hopes to signning him for less in the free agent market. There is no doubt that Manny is a great hitter, defense is a question sometimes. After all is said and done, I would not be surprised to see him in Anaheim, Detroit, Baltimore as a DH/OF. No NL team will need his services.

Manny will take bathroom breaks in the left field wall. He will have several episodes on the baselines that will rival Jeff Suppan in game 3 of the 2004 World Series. He will drop several easy fly balls. He will amaze people with a rifle throw to cut down someone trying to go to second on a line drive off the wall. He will be sick or hurt for at least 10 games. He will hit 35+ home runs. He will get at least 120 RBI. He will hit one or two more grand slams to add to his current active record. He will make pitchers pitch to Big Papi. He will anger the Boston sports media. He will be late to spring training next month. He will be in a Red Sox uniform when he is late to spring training in 2008.

Like everyone else says, he will be in Boston all year. Boston has a better team this year than they did last year. He will enjoy the success, ask to be traded a few times, not be traded, dig back in, enjoy more protection from the 5 spot and kick some butt.

Boston and he will hit 40-45 HR's drive in 135 RBI's and bat in the .320 - .330 area. Manny's a good one if only he could park his attitude.
