I have not had a period since dec 21, I finally got through to the docs and I have appt this coming tuesday but I feel pregnant, I have been ttc for about 5 months now, how accurate is the urine test at the er is it like a blood test? Thanks for answer . Thanks for your answers!!

Well my friend hurt her foot at 8 weeks pg and had to go for an x-ray. When the nurse asked if she was pg my friend said yes about 8 weeks but the nurse wanted to test a urine sample anyway. After it was tested the nurse came nack and said quite rudely and insensitively, 'well this says your not pg'! She had already got about 6 positives on hpts! That was about 3 months ago. She is now 5 months pg!!! So the test was completely wrong.

No, a urine sample is not as accurate/sensitive as a blood test. A blood test will tell you fro sure whether you are pg or not. Good luck x

The ER uses similar tests like the EPT or the ones you get from the dollar store.
A blood test is the most accurate. Did they give you a blood test? Sometimes, the hcg is so faint, the urine tests won't pick it up.
Make an appt and get a blood test done. Or try the First Response. It supposedly detects even the smallest amount of hcg.

Hope this helped.

If you had your last period, you would be 6 weeks pregnant (4 weeks by conception). HcG shows up at a very high level at 6 weeks: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/mL (not pregnant is less than 5 mIU/mL.. If the urine test was negative, you probably aren't pregnant. Urine tests are very accurate; however, if it wasn't the first morning urine, or if you drink a LOT of fluid, it could be diluted, but I doubt it. Ask the doctor for a blood hcG test on Tuesday, but don't hold your breath.

Usually ER will do a blood test. A blood test is more accurate.

Maybe?

Urine tests are not always true. A blood test is best. Ask your Dr. to do one. =o)

Good Luck!

You could still be pregnant depending on when you ovulated. Do another test in a weeks time to be sure. Fingers crossed... :<)
