Alot of restaurants automatically serve dessert, any dessert, with a spoon. I don't know why. Maybe they have more spoons than forks because the forks are used for dinner. Most restaurants don't set a table with spoons either. This used to drive me crazy when I ate out with my son because you have to ask for a spoon and some places only have tea spoons with the really long handles.

Those plastic thingies that are shaped like a spoon but have little tines on them are called "sporks". We had those at the school lunch program. That what you mean?

Otherwise, I think your answer would be a restaurant that doesn't have enough forks. Don't know what the spoon would be called, but the restaurant would be called "cheap"

i'm extremely an weird and wonderful one. I have a tiny fork that i take advantage of for both cake and ice cream jointly, yet with purely ice cream via itself, i take advantage of a mini spoon. (Stuff purely tastes better effective at the same time as eaten with lovable issues)

My rule of thumb is, if it comes on a plate, use a fork, if it comes in a bowl, use a spoon. Exceptions being pasta and salad.

Either one too cheap to buy cake forks, or too ignorant to know what a cake fork is.

Teaspoons are for adding sugar and stirring tea, not eating cake!
