The plug is termed Firewire (aka: IEEE 1394 or i.link). that is a strategies extra sturdy and typically swifter than USB 2 even as managing large information streams. All cutting-edge Macs have firewire (except MacBook Air) and there are PCI playing cards for any pc pcs that do not have FireWire equipped-in. you're particular your cam does have Firewire, properly? It extremely in common words concerns if you're utilising a actual DV digicam. The more moderen DVD and HD depending cameras uselower-high quality, compressed video formats the position Firewire isn't so significant. As for fee, in case you analyze them function to operate, which contains assure and high quality of help, Macs extremely are not that a lot extra intense priced than machines from different respected agencies. the skill to no longer run domicile windows is easily worth each and every penny, IMO. obviously i'm enthusiastic about Macs, yet in case you may't locate the money for a sparkling (or newish) Intel depending Mac, don't worry. percentis getting instantly left in the back of and they don't seem a sturdy purchase except you comprehend you pick the percentbased device.

Macs can run Windows and Mac OS, so you get the best of both worlds.

They use the highest quailty components throughout; hence the price.

Apple and PC Systems run the same processors.

Mac OS is currently still the most advanced operating system. (Yes, that does include Vista)

Apple systems are fitted with better onboard audio systems than the vast majority of pc competitors.

Significantly less viruses.

All Apple laptops and iMacs come with built-in webcams.

A similarly spec'ed, similar quaility wintel laptop will cost around the the same price, if not more, and will still not have all the apples features.

The Closest thing to the apple laptops in terms of quality are the high end Dells or Sony Vaio's.

Hope this helps.

I own both a Mac and PC. I have to add that I only used the PC for gaming. However, since I managed to get hold of a PS3 I haven't turned it on for 2months.

Regards A.

It used to be that many people prefered Macs for the graphics, as in graphic artists, etc... But in the recent years with the advancement in technology Mac lost that edge. AMD has done a lot for the PC and it looks like intel has caught up momentarily. A friend of mine has a MAC and I have to admit that it is nice, but it was expensive. I have a pc. An HP to be exact and after I got it I did a couple upgrades and didn't pay any more than my friends Mac and it out performs his Mac by far. I have more computer for the money. With NVidia making hot a gpu and AMD having their quad core that you can stack and overclock Mac doesn't compare. As far as notebooks, for the money I would buy an hp with an AMD Turion dual core. You won't spend as much as you would a Mac. As far as crashes, I don't ever have that problem. As far as the virus's, it depends on what web sites you are going to for starters. If you are going to adult web sites as in (p o r n), well that is a risk, but if you stay away from those places you wont have to worry about it. There are more and more virus's and hackers for Macs these days, so that is a lame argument to get a Mac. If you are limited on money, but want a nice laptop, get an hp. Excellent graphics, memory and with the new Windows Vista it is excellent. I have Windows XP media center and it is itself excellent with the AMD FX dual core and the Nvidia gpu card. I prefer this set up to the Mac any day. I don't have a virus problem, but I don't go to sites that pose those risks. The same with spyware although with PCTools anti spyware that does take care of any spyware from game sites. The argument that Mac is better isn't really true anymore. As far as loading and such, my pc loads just as fast as any Mac I have seen. If money is no option I would go to Alienware.com and look at their laptops. Their laptops can be set up to be as good as my desk top. By the way, the Turion can go up to 2.66ghz with a front bus of 2000. I don't think that Mac does that in their laptops.

Macs I have to say are absolutely incredible. They are much quicker, and much easier to use. If you are used to the pc system, then the mac is still really easy to get used to - just a couple of hours and you will be wondering why you even considered buying a non-apple. They never crash, they are much quicker, they are much more stylish, and they work really well with all programs, and of course, iPods.
There did used to be one bad side of macs. When microsoft and apple were first created and in really huge competition microsoft gave its software out to companies so that programs could be made for it. Hence most games etc can only be played on microsoft. However now both microsoft widows or vista (the new windows) can be used on macs. You need to buy some software, and vista, and mac os X is obviously included. You can run both side by side, and so now macs are ahead - being able to run both. also you used to be able to run both (from 8 months or so ago) but you had to shut down when you wanted to change. Now you can easily run both side by side - but only on macs!

Macs are better and they now run windows! There is no choice!

They're fine, there's practically no difference for normal PC users between Mac and PC now. You can run Windows on the newer Macs even.

Macs are the best by far, ive got a Macbook and it is loads better than any Windows PC Ive had. Although me owning a Mac is going against principals, I work for Microsoft and they give me a new computer every year. A cr@ppy Windows one.

Apparently they don't crash like PCs do and all designers / publishers tend to use Macs as they are much better for those kinds of things. I am unfamiliar with Macs but had to use them occasionally at uni and I think once you get used to them they are probably better.

You're always going to have access to PCs but if you have Mac skills too then you may be more marketable in the workplace. I'd go for it if I were you!

Mac software costs more, if you can even get it for the application you want.

Macs are more user-friendly and less prone to viruses.

I have both and prefer my Mac, but when I'm gaming, it's the PC all the way.

This is just my opinion though.
