I love the silent hill series but I can't beat them with out a walk through guide. I would get Resident Evil 4 first. It has an amazing replay value but I wouldn't turn down the silent hill games which have a very interesting story behind them. By the way, Silent Hill 4 is better than 3 but you should play 3 first just to get the story.

Resident Evil 4 is a better game the Silent Hill 3 is not as good of a game it is more a drag

Love the Silent Hill series. X3 They are so interesting. lol I'm playing Silent Hill 3 on my computer right now, and it's going good so far. heheheh I've fallen into I dunno how many death traps that you just have to watch out for.
For more scares, I'd suggest Silent Hill.
I haven't really played Sesidend Evil or anything but from what I've heard, it's much better to play over again. Once I've played a Silent Hill game, I'm done with it, but that shouldn't stop you from playing Silent Hill. It's really interesting and the stories are just so twisted and awesome.
I've played Silent Hill 4: The Room, and I've gotta say that the storyline makes more sense, but there's not so much of that fear present. Go with Silent Hill 2. It's got so many twists.

Res Evil 4 is the one to get. Silent Hill 3 sucked. I didn't even finish it.
Right now I'm playing RE4 for the fifth or sixth time. It's kick ***. And there are a bunch of mini games you can play to unlock stuff. Great game. Also check out Res. Evil Zero. Another great buy.

I say go with RE4. SH3 can be a bit of a drag...while at least it was for me. It offers so scares but mostly a drag. On the other hand RE4 provides some exciting moments. It also requires you to use some brain power as well. I liked the combination of the two. It kept me from feeling like I was doing the same crap over and over.

silent hill is corney if you want to got for better graphics choose resident evil. its awsome.

ooo, thats a tough one... silent hill is longer, but RE is a hell of alot more fun, id say RE4.

buy it - it wont last long if you just play through it but if you play for the achievments and unlockable costumes that will keep you running til the multiplayer comes out in mid april for 160 ms points
