You're lucky you didn't feel this pain sooner! I started feeling hip pain almost immediately (I'm going onto 24 weeks now). I walk with a slight limp sometimes and have problems raising my legs too quickly when I try to get out of bed. In fact, I have to roll out of bed most times, and I've only gained 11 lbs so far! This is completely normal. My doctor told me that our hips are expanding in order to make room for the baby and also to prepare us for labor. Since you are close to giving birth (congrats!) your pain is most likely due to your body's preparation for labor. That doesn't mean, however, that it is going to happen any day now. Try using a body pillow to elevate your hips and legs, or a heating pad to ease the pain. Good luck!

Couple things, yes you could have pulled something or even done something to your joint. Remember the added weight is putting alot of pressure on your joints, your muscles are softened by the hormones and by 35 wks your body is nearing the end and ready to call it quits, either that or you are. So do take it easy when moving.
And the closer you get to labor the more it is difficult to walk, if the baby dropped, you could be feeling added pressure around your hips and peliv area, that happens about 4 weeks (about) before delivery, and you can go anytime the last few weeks so don't hold me to that lenght. Take extra care in walking, and the next visit you go to your doctors be sure to tell them, other than that you should be off your feet as much as possible if it hurts that much. As much as they say to keep up with walking to help labor along if your joints and or bones are hurting that much you should just relax.
Take care, hope something helped. Congrats on baby!

I had that earlier in my pregnancy in my right hip. Then it went away and then back in my left. It has to do with your ligaments relaxing due to the pregnancy. Try using heat on that hip, don't push any walking or activity (if possible). Maybe get your partner to massage around the area (the right hip pain went away after my dr was poking around it to see what was up and then I never had it in that hip again). I can't guarantee it will go away or even get better, but most of my pain was gone by around your stage and now I am 30 weeks. Talk to your doc, too. Maybe try some tylenol.

You're really lucky that you made it to 35 weeks before getting these pains. I've been getting them since 8 weeks. It's the stretching and pulling of your ligaments as your hips widen to accomodate the birth and the additional weight you are carrying.

I know exactly what you are talking about and it isn't just one of mine it is both. It started with just one and now it is both. I went to the doc on Monday for my 34 week visit and she told me that baby is in position and the pain that I am feeling is pressure from him. It is one of those many things that life throws at you when you are pregnant. I can not sleep hardly because laying on one side for more then a few minutes kills me and I know it is not good to lay on your back. I just try to lay on pillows and not directly on my hip. It is from the baby and your baby my be dropping and that would be the reason for all the pain. Just wanted to let you know what they told me and that you are not alone in the pain. Good Luck and Congratulations.

Well im not as far as long as you, but my hips do hurt sparatically. I think they hurt because they are widening getting ready for the baby to come out, so they spread out. they say to sleep with a pillow in between your legs. I know that helps me, I switch sides all through the night.
well i wish you a healthy rest of your pregnancy

I have hip pain often at night and I think it is becasue of the sleep position. They want us to sleep on our side so all of the weight of the pregnancy isn't on our spine and organs, but then you are placing 20-plus pounds on your hip at night!! I try to prop up on pillows to take the pressure off a bit, but the truth is you are so close to the finish line....hang in there!!

Yes I would say it is getting ready for the upcoming event. I went through the same thing for about 2 weeks or so before I had my child.
