Follow the advice that other people have offered on this answer (selling to vendors, selling green + items at AH, taking up professions where it is easy to make money) but also keep this in mind:

Don't feel like you have to have tons of money at the beginning! Sure we all want the best armor and weapons, but the drops off of mobs at the early levels as well as armor/weapon quest rewards provide you with adequate armor for quite awhile. Once you start getting green item drops you can use you can keep those as well. If you don't spend a lot during the low levels you'll have more in the bank once you get high enough whree better armor and weapons become more important. I have leveled so far to 45 no problem having as much money as I need along the way. While I may not have the best armor and weapons possible, they are sufficient for me to quest and do what I need to do to get exp. Good luck!

Beg in Ironforge like everyone else. (Kidding! People who do that are annoying as sin!)

No, seriously - it isn't that hard to make money, and much like everyone else worked for theirs, you should work for your own.

1. Loot everything, even the cheesiest piece of vendor trash... and vendor it, you'll start to raise your funds that way.

2. Do quests with cash rewards.

3. Kill humanoids - they drop money and linen/wool/etc. cloth which you can vendor, skill up your first aid, or sell on the Auction House.

4. Auction any green BoE items you get (and try and do Auctioning mainly on the weekend when most people are on).

5. Take up two gathering professions and sell what you gather. Skinning is a good one - you can skin any animals you kill and sell the leather. And supplement skinning with mining or herbalism... (right now I'd highly suggest mining. The market is really strong right now for ores and bars with jewelcrafting as a new profession).

Once you've gained money and gotten higher up in level, you could always drop one of the gathering professions and take up a crafting profession if you'd like.

it is not that hard to earn money, just loot everything, then sell it to vendors, repeat the process.
if you have quest items in your inventory, then the best option would be to sell everything when you start to get full, or if your not actively doing the quest, put the quest items in your bank.
It is not a good idea to ask for money in ANY MMORPG.
