Bangalore was the name given by the British. Now that we are a free country, we have the right to rename our cities in our own language. (Which I think is dumb, because it only wastes good money in changing the name in all places.)

Bangalore when prononunced seems to be as a english word so now its named as Bengaluru. Firstly Kempegowda named this bangalore as bendakaluru (Boiled seeds city )

Because we think that we need not follow the British's way of naming a country. And when I say we, Im excluding myself. All this is utter stupidity, why waste precious money in changing silly names, instead of improve the plight of our country? Besides, we already have much of debt.

We want everything indianised. Like Calcutta became Kolkata.It is subjected more towards the local dialect.
