I would take Oden because he is a more complete player, They just showed his sats on sportscenter today and they said he is first in rebounds and blocks, forth in fieldgoal percentage, and seventh in points per game in the big ten. Thats pretty impressive

It would totally depend on what my needs where. Oden is not an offensive threat in college so he will be even less of one when he first starts in the NBA. EVeryone keeps calling him the next Russell, I have the feeling he will be closer to a bigger better Dwight Howard. So if I was say the Celtics and I already had anumber of offensive weapons or the ablitiy to trade for some I would take Oden in a heart beat.
Now if I was the Grizzlies and I traded away Gasol and decided to completely start from scratch I would go with Durant. I think he's going to be a Kevin Garnette type player who you can build a franchize around. Even though it would take a couple of years I think building around Durant has a better long term outlook for a team that has nothing.
Or choice three would be to trade the pick away. I don't think Memphis should do this because I think their team needs to start from scratch. If I was the Celtics I might seriously consider it. What would the Celtics loose if they packaged a deal that sent Al Jefferson or Gerald Green, Kendrick Perkins and the number one pick to Minnisota for Garnette. Or some combination of a young stud or two plus what ever contracts would be needed to make the $$$ work to bring in an alltime great. Two superstars a group of good role players. Boston would have Peirce and Garnette, and a group of good young players.

Greg Oden and Kevin Durant. to most ppl this a hard choice to make but to be honest i would go with noah over both of them. oden is too overrated have u watch him play he has the talent but that dont mean anything. he slow on offence and defence and he giveup on play some time. the other thing he has to game face the one that try and do everything and the one that layed back. kevin i havent seen him play much so i cant say. noah he a great play and if wat they say and how he play is true he be better than david lee i would take him with my first pick. or make i take oden and trade him for noah and couple millions

Oden, that body type doesnt come around much! PERIOD! You have to have a dominant center to win a championship! Durant is like many players...high scorer but no presence under the basket when he moves to the next level. Take your chance on ODEN!

oden no doubt. durant is good but he wont be putting numbers like that in the nba. oden is a good defensive player who can also have his presence felt offensively in the paint since he is young. in the long run durant but people play for today so i will go for oden

I'll take Oden. The kid is pretty much dominating (even though the stats arent mind boggling) with one hand. He's shooting FT's with his left hand right now. True centers in the NBA are a rare breed. He will instantly make any team he joins much better at defense, and once he fine tunes his offensive moves, he'll be an all-around force to be reckoned with.

Kevin...for the simple fact that he is more athletic than Greg
and although "true centers" don't come around much, no one really needs one..
Shaq is the last dominant true center and he's not going to be in the league for much
A team like San Antonio or Houston could benefit from him, but most teams won't, not many teams play a half court game

history teaches us that you always choose a dominant big man to a talented wing. though the NBA game is evolving to a game for the smaller athletic players, i dont think any NBA GM out there has the guts to pick durant ahead of oden. lets face it, you cant teach height!

Greg Odeen, because of his body size. Durant is just to thin, he reminds me of Marcus Camby, great i College, but so so in the pros.
Hope that answers the debate.
