No I do this all the time.

basically you need;
* a dvd RW
*a dvd ripper program (there is a great FREE one to download called dvd shrink and is very easy to use....this not only RIPS the dvd to your HD but also shrinks it so its small enoughh to fit on a dvd-R
*and a dvd burning program....I use Nero Express for mine

I self taught myself how to do the entire operation....was a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it its real easy!

The following website is where I learned how to do EVERY stage of the dvd copy process....it is packed with instructions for every type of ripper and burner, as well as links to downloads for freeware software and trial software (Nero you'll have to buy...about a fiver on ebay but check you are getting the right one as only one of the Nero packages actually burns dvds)

thats enough to get you going!

Its very possible to copy a DVD. You need a DVD burner of course, and one or more programs. (If the DVDs are DL, Youll need a DL DVD Burner) If the DVD is not copyrighted, its simple to burn, just download something like Nero or something else that has a copy DVD feature, and copy it. If it has security and coptrighted content, you'll need other programs. I can't remember the ones off the top of my head, but it copies something regardless of the content. My friend has it, Ill ask him. Or you can do another question asking how to burn copyright protected DVDs.
