How do you think they came to be buried like that?

We were just talking about that. It was beautiful though wasn't it? I wonder if they feared for their lives or if they died from an illness or something. Whatever happened, I would like to go like that, too. ... in the arms of the person I love.

Unless other evidence is turned up I'd tend to think that they may have died separately but at near the same time and were arranged that way when they were buried. The preliminary evidence suggests that they were young so death may have accidental or illness. I suppose one could speculate that they may have been a sacrifice or ritual killing, but the report didn't mention and marks of violence.

I was so touched!! they looked so cute! I would imagine that it was an "unforgiven" love- meaning either the woman or the man came from a family that did not allow the two of them to be together- like peasant and royalty---something like that is exactly what I pictured at first- but, it also could've happened during a horrific disaster- like a tsunami, earthquake or volcanic eruption-- they reminded me of the old couple that stayed in their bed in the movie Titanic!

mac got it all wrong,any thing could cause the couple to separate.they could have been attacked commond in the area where there are fightings alot as we should know from histories.they came together as they lay dying"i'm sorry,i should have left you with your family. no,being here with you is the greatest gift you could have giving me,i love you. gasp. noooo,gasp."

Maybe they were holding each other when they died. They found a lot of bodies like that in Pompeii.

They may have been positioned like that at their funeral. Or maybe they actually died in each others arms.

You know Ive been thinking about that on and off all morning that pic really got to me I think ohhh how beautiful they died in each others arms then I think OMG why did they know they were dying ...........I dunno your guess is as good as mine
