How much music do you own?
I bought a 60gb and have struggled to fill it with songs.
Whereas if you buy a 4gb, then you may be on the computer every week or so changing the songs you have on it.
I would go for 4gb, cheaper, and you really can only listen to one song at a time. Then you can change the songs over every week or so.

Ipods hold more music, but you drop it and it is dead (hard drives don't do very well with shocks) and dropping it is not covered by warranty.
4 GB is a good chunck of space and if you are a cludge it is more robust to minor abuse
