I live at home with my parents, I will be 20 in may. My boyfriend, who proposed during the christmas season, basically lives at my house. Its been like this for about a year and a half, and until recently it has been working just fine. We both love eachother very much. Because of his crazy work schedule, sometimes sleeping together is the only time we get to spend together (And i do mean litterally sleeping).
Recently though, when hes in the bed, i Can not fall asleep! I'm restless, not tired..etc.. On the nights when he has to work until 3amish and i'm in my bed alone to sleep...i'm sleeping within a half hour of laying down.
I dont understand why this is happening all of a sudden (probably since the end of January). We have not been fighting, actually - our relationship is at an all time high....going stronger than ever!
Any suggestions on how to get a better nites sleep while sharing the bed? Or suggestions on how to not be so restless?

lol, he doesnt snore. ... if anything, i'd be the one waking him up b/c i have had sleep talking issues in the past (or sleep mumbeling ..)..
And, he doesnt move much while he sleeps. Actually, he doesnt move AT ALL usually. He wakes up in the same position that he fell asleep in, unless i push him off the bed (jk) ...good suggestions, but not the problem.

I don't think this is a matter of health...this is a matter of your mind not going to sleep. When I sleep in the same bed as my fiance, I want to cuddle, talk, and generally be with him. It's not the only time we get together, though, so we usually can get to sleep in about half an hour.
However, if sleeping is the only time you get together, you're probably feeling like the time is wasted on dreaming, when you should be spending it on quality time with your boyfriend.
A suggestion for you would be to find some time for the two of you to be together, but not when you are sleeping. This'll give you the quality time you need, but make it easier to sleep with him there, because you aren't 'wasting' time on sleep when you 'should' be spending it doing other things with him.
I hope that helps!

Sometimes too much stimulation before going to bed, like a bath or play session can be a cause. Try to leave at least half an hour before placing him in his bed to just let him rest. Milk allergies can come on too that cause stomach pain and gas that make sleep elusive. Is he drawing his legs up to his chest, moving around alot, crying, expelling gas? Think possible milk allergies. Is he too hot/cold? Do you have a set routine where you do the same things in the same order every night-babies love routines. Are you allowing him to go to sleep with music or voices around him? It's best to get them accustomed to room noise so that when it comes from another source, it does not cause them to jerk awake, or interrupt the process of drifting off. Do you talk calmly and soothingly despite how frustrating this gets for you? Babies pick up on irritation in caregivers voices and that can upset them, again making sleep elusive. Baby is well aware that you are leaving him, and that can be distressing, so talk quietly to him as you prepare him for bed, and tell him you'll be back-it's amazing what they can understand, before they have words to tell you, sing a goodnight song, leave a nightlight on, slip out of the room- and tip toe in from time to time to ensure he's covered, hopefully sleeping on his back for safety, and give yourself credit for checking off these items, and tell yourself your'e a good parent. You will survive. Hopefully this is just a stage.

Is he moving too much? Is he snoring? You haven't told us all the details. Because my husabnd and I were find when we were dating. As years went by and we both relaxed, not only he started snoring like a track outside the door, also moving and shaking more than when he is awake. Suddenly his hand flies from one side to the other and his whole body shakes like electric waves. He hasn't got any clue of this, it is absolutely funny. I have planned my next project will be filming it for a whole night. Then I will sell the video to all comedy programs!
Relax, drink mint tea, and don't think too much. It can also be 'inner stress' that you don't think too much about it -worries of his work hours etc. - it doesn't mean you don't love each other, just little lifestyle changes, and going more mature in your relationship and relaxing with each other and you are too excited of things...... tell him not to eat very late night or drink too much water.... or if it is you; drink camomile tea and relax your mind, also evening excersise is very good to keep your body tired and sleep better.
good luck!

Maybe your frustrated. As you are busy at the moment and rarely have time for anything but sleeping together your body may be missing the more physical side of your relationship. Hopefully his work schedule will settle down a bit in time and allow you a bit more quality time together.

As time goes on you will be able to sleep next to him easier. Right now because your relationship is at a high your body has a lot going on when he is around. Your hormones are preventing you from sleeping. Don't worry, once you begin to sleep together every night this will go away.

You might just need a new mattress. After a time they develop ridges, bumps and hollows that make it difficult to get comfortable, especially if two people are in the bed.
The other possibility is that when he comes to bed at 3 a.m. he is disturbing your normal sleep pattern by waking you up at the wrong time.

Before going to bed eat a banana, eat a slice of whole wheat bread, or drink some warm milk with honey in it. It really helps! I had trouble sleeping, but then I drank warm milk every night to help me sleep. I hope this helps.

It's probably just because you are not used to it yet. You will eventually get used to someone else being there and pay no mind to it. Unless he snores, then it's only going to get worse!

Maybe it's like your subconscience saying you need to move out. I would be uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed as my boyfriend/finace in my parents house...
