Pujols. His numbers are huge with RISP and with 2 strikes. He has ice water running through his veins.

Helton (.333), Pujols (.332) and Ichiro (.331) have the 3 highest life-time batting averages of all active players. Out of the three, Ichiro (.352) has the highest BA with RISP / 2 outs. Pujols and Helton have .335 and .309 BA, respectively.

However, Ichiro is mostly a singles hitter, and Pujols is more likely to hit for extra bases. So I would go with Pujols.

Over all time, I would have to say Ted Williams. He was the best hitter in the game.

Right now in the clutch I would have to go with Paul Konerko or Jermain Dye, both with the White Sox. I have seen them both come through so many times in situations like this, to me they both are big game hitters. Other than that, the only other player I would want would be Albert Pujols. I think that he is going to hold a few records when he is done.

Basically, in this situation, you need a home run or at least a triple to tie the game. Well then, that's easy, I either want:

1. Eddie Murray (2nd most Game Winning RBI in his career with 117)
2. Sam Crawford (was a consistant batsman and also hold major league record for most triples, 309)

I'm not a Cardinals' fan, but I think I would choose Albert Pujols. He is a very intelligent hitter. He hits for power and average. I think he would hit to the opposite field if necessary.

I also like Ortiz, Jeter and young Joe Mauer of Minnesota.

Of course, no answer would be a good one, unless I knew who was on the mound and what park we might be playing in.

Baseball is a great game of strategy.

First of all, not David Ortiz. He is a .261 career hitter when runners are at 1st and 3rd (.118 BA in 2006).

The answer is Albert Pujols or Ryan Howard.

Ted Williams if we are talking all time.

Today: Derek Jeter. He will get pitched to and hit a clutch double like he always does.

Ortiz and Pujols will get walked once the pitcher falls behind in the count.
