I think he'll win around 15 games and post an ERA around 3.50 - 4.00. He's not going to dominate the AL, and even if he starts out hot, teams will adjust when they see him for a second time.

The most games he ever won in Japan was 17. He is now playing against much better over all hitting in one of baseball's hardest hitting divisions.

He will win 10 to 14 games at the most with a era around 3.90 to 4.30. The good thing is he will have run support.

Boston fans are expecting Pedro like numbers from this guy and that's unfair.

15 wins, high 3's era. The big question mark will be how he will adjust to batters adjusting to him. He will start off a little shakey getting used to MLB (the mounds are different in Japan), but will still be new to all the hitters so he will get by. As he gets used to things, he will do better, but then the scouting on him will get better as well. So as people get used to him it will be interesting to see what he does to keep the batters off balance. But he is a GREAT pitcher, so he should be able to work through it all. And he will have the relief of pressure knowing he has a strong rotation around him.

Many people say Boston is crazy for paying that enormous money to "unknown" pitcher.
The fact is that Boston has been watching him closely for the past 8 years ever since Matsuzaka was in high school in Japan.
For Boston, Matsuzaka has been "proven."

MLB fans all over the U.S. will soon know it for sure.

I think Boston was a little crazy for spending so much on an unproven player. He has been put into a very unfortunate position and the big things for this guy won't happen until next year at best. He will take his lumps but I think he is good for 10 wins and an era under 3.5. Anything else would surprise me, but it is a long season and anything can happen

Red Sox are nuts if they think Daisy is going to put these numbers: 16-18 wins, 2.00-3.00 ERA,, with a .75-.90 WHIP.

Daisy will go 15-8, 3.82 ERA, .253 BAA, 188 SO, 67 BB

True he his best wining year was 17 in japan but lets not forget his japan team didn't have a lineup consisting of guys like ortiz and manny. My guess is he'll win 18 games, a 3.25 era, and about 200k's.

D-Mat will put up decent numbers 12-5 3.41ERA 120K. He can either be dominating pitcher or a replica of Hideo Nomo and we all know what Nomo was like.
