I haven't used it myself, but I've spoken to a lot of Moms who said it was legit.
Also if you call different employment agencies sometimes they offer work to SAHMs! My friend got a job at home through a church that did community stuff, she was a single Mom, so they helped her find a job and still stay home with her baby, also she did Avon on the side too.

You could baby sit for other parents in your home. Charge a weekly rate, then your daughter would have play mates! =o) Just an idea, because everything I think up has a cost involved.
Have you tried searching out stay at home mom jobs?
Try looking here www.child.com or www.parents.com they offer sometimes a list of home businesses that you can do cheaply or fairly cheap. Medical billing & transcripts but you have to give money to get the training. =o)
Have you applied for TANF? Sounds like you need the money to get on your feet.
Good Luck!

Maybe you can take a CPR/First Aid class and start a home daycare. If you have administrative skills, send out your resume to various companies and see if they need any extra typing, etc. done. Do you like to bake? Try baking products at home. Sell Avon or Mary Kay. A friend of mine does gift baskets for people.
I'm sorry you are doing this alone, but I always find comfort in knowing that whatever the situation, I am not the first person to go through whatever dilemma. It has been done, you just have to find a way.

Honestly, most REAL stay at home jobs are not the kind you can have kids home and do. Unless you have an infant, you will more than likely get fired from a stay at home job if you have kid(s) running around. My advice is find someone, maybe a stay-at-home mom, to watch your child. This way she can watch them even when they are sick, or look into keeping other children with your child.

Goodness girl, you definitely need to look into becoming a Mary Kay consultant. It would be PERFECT for you. I have several ladies who are in the same position as you and have become success with their MK business. It's great because you are your own boss, so you make your own hours and decide when YOU want to work. It has unlimited earning potential so you control how much you make by how much you work. You can be making a great income by working a part-time schedule. We sell our product and make a 50% profit, which is HUGE! Plus its the best direct selling because you'll get re-orders all the time from people needing more product. You won't have any quotas or territories so you can do it as much or as little as you want.
I would LOVE to send you some info for you to look over, and remember your in business for yourself but not by yourself, so i will help you evey step of the way! Go to my site and email me and there is also some more info that you can see on there.

I was able to get a job working at home through Kelly Services. They may not have anything available, but I would check into it. (Medical billing doesn't work. My sister spent waaaay too much time and money and couldn't get any work. She even had several years' experience at a doctor's office.)

If you happen to live around Salt Lake City, UT, you can work for Jet Blue, the airline. I have heard that their reservations/ticketing agents are mostly work from home moms. You will have the flexibility to work from your home with decent benefits, while taking care of your kid. Checkout www.jetblue.com

Maybe run your own daycare. Just make sure you don't take them when they're sick.
