yesterday i was on a gym bycycle and my ipod fell. now today, i was listening to it and noticed that it skipped some songs completely. now its skipping every song i choose. nothing is playing but everything else is ok. i reset it several times with the power and tried to hook it up to my computer, but nothing happened. can someone help me out plz!? i would really appreciate any tips and advice

yes ive resetted it several times and i live in malaysia and apple hear doesnt have the refurbishing policy for some reason so i need to know how i might fix it myself

check out the trouble shooting page on apple.com... it's really helpful. however i'm not sure if your problem can be fixed. mine got dropped in a bowl of water though and it still works after some trouble shooting

Have you tried resetting it? (Hold down the menu and center buttons until the Apple logo appears)

If there's an apple store within a reasonable distance take it in for service. If you bought it within the last year, you should be able to, if necessary, get it replaced for $30, perhaps for free.

Don't mention that it was dropped, just tell them what behavior it's exhibiting.

If you want, you can look up how to put the iPod into "Disk check mode" but that will only find bad sectors on the hard drive, and if you already have those you want the iPod repaired or replaced anyway.
