Exactly how British is this site? When a questioner (see reference below) called for a census, of those who responded 3 were UK based, 3 were in the US and one was in India.

From the way that questions are asked and the general level of literacy I get the impression that most of the Anti-Semitic stuff originates with teenage Arab boys sitting in Cyber-cafes in the back streets of Cairo. Must of the cruder anti-Muslim material from the more primitive parts of the US. The racists of all ethnicities seem to cancel each other out since they seem to have so much in common, mainly ignorance and a whole lot of personal issues they redirect towards their hate-target.

All I can suggest is that you personally ask questions that actually advance the argument and encourage people to examine their own opinions. And give clear coherent answers that inform and illuminate rather than create smoke and bad smells.

What I am not prepared to do, and what I know the liberal establishment would like people to do, is stop raising the issue of the extent of the threat by Islamists aka Islamo-fascists to freedom and democracy; the issue of continuing mass immigration into the UK and its corrosive effects and the failure (or otherwise) of multiculturalism. But that certainly doesnt make me a xenophobe, a racist or (spellcheck willing) illiterate.

If we don't discuss these issues in an articulate intelligent way we leave the field to the boneheads, hate merchants and evil Islamists.

Xenophobia is rife throughout the world not just in the UK.
Racism is only racism if it upsets someone with a different colour or race and lets face it, you wont deliberately upset ANYONE by being nice to them, so its hard to say when someone is being Racist just cos they are having an argument with someone of a different background & culture. See things in there rightful context before jumping on the racism bandwaggon.
As for Illiteracy, blame the dumb *** parents for dragging up their dumb *** kids in the same way their dumb *** parents brought them up !

Not much bothers me really when it comes to xenophobia and racism, its understandable that people have strong views if they live in Britain!

I am however, extremely annoyed when it comes to spelling! I hate bad English. I don't mean the odd typo but when whole sentences are just a mish mash of incorrectly spelt words, that is when it really bothers me.

No - I'm neither embarrased nor surprised by any of it. I'm surprised by the facile assumption that everyone who would like an end to immigration is described as being uneducated or thick. I am neither - quite the reverse, in fact.

I would like immigration be stopped immediately. I would also like to see aspects of the welfare state gradually phased out over a period of years and replaced with a US-style 'WorkFare' system.

I believe that people with certain religious beliefs who came here for one reason or another have overstepped the mark with their comments and behaviour and should be deported.

None of this will happen, of course. This will, no doubt, please the bovine pc brigade who want to turn the UK ( and have almost succeeded) into a cess pit of hatred caused - not by racists - but by the imposition of 2 (or is it 3?) million immigrants onto a society that did not vote for it.

So, you'll have your way - happy?

Hate is evil. Dislike for an individual you don't even know is the province of the pitifully ignorant. Just look at the lowlifes shown in the media who have comitted crimes in this area. As for literacy the standard is simply terrible. But does it represent a cross section of our society? Reading between the lines I think not.

why should they be embarrassed, if as you say, they might be illiterate, their votes can make or brake a government. Taking this point as valid would you say that it's possible a government are ruling us with the help of a bunch of illiterates. Who are the illiterate ones?

I dont think anyone is xenophobic.racist, possibly and probably justifiably so.No immigrant has benefitted me or anyone else I know,They bring only negatives.

Illiteracy, well ,I see a lot of that but we can put that down to thedumbing down of exams and society's expectations in general since the new labour party has been in power.

yes I am really ,it's bad enough having a history of bloodshed on our hands through the name of colonialism but for people to be bigoted, ignorant for the needs of fellow humans is beyond me although it is not just restricted to the UK , the us ,most of Europe, in fact most of the world are little different to ourselves, a very sad state of affairs.
