He will find out soon. Do not be the bearer of bad news (It may not be genuine, anyhow)
Be there to support him if and when it happens

First reaction is to say NO. However lots can depend on your loyalties. Is he an excellent boss and was this just found out accidentally by you? Are you willing to risk exposure and possibly the sack too if your employers know it was you who told? Are you a confidential secretary/pers. assistant and this is priviliged information? If so when you undertook the position you knew you would have knowledge of things other employees didn't know about and put in this position of trust. You must weigh up all the things mentioned. I am sure if the actual employee position doesn't refer to you it will still hopefully show you were you are coming from. If it is a totally unjust sacking (in which case your boss can take matters further) and you are as I said willing to face the consequences of your own fate then you are an admirable person indeed. Also be sure of your reasons why you want to pass the information to the person as could be seen by others employees of causing trouble and unrest. If he is being sacked for dishonesty, misconduct etc then it really is none of your business.

I would keep my mouth shut!! You may be setting yourself up for trouble!! Leave it to those who are doing the sacking!! Also it wouldn't be nice for your boss to know that everyone else knows that s/he is getting sacked before they have been informed.
I know because I turned up for work one day and several people told me that I was getting the sack that day. And sure enough after lunch they sacked me!! It was bad enough getting sacked but worse because the fact that mangement had obviously been discussing it with others who then passed on this news to others. It felt like everyone else knew before I did!! It made me paranoid about what else had been said!

No you should not tell him. if you are reporting to this person it may cause him/her some embarrassment that you have this information. You should all so approach the person whom gave you this info and ask why they would put you in that position. As the owner of a company I would never do this to one of my employees. The best thing for you to do is be there for them after and offer any help that may apply. I know this is probably not the answer you wanted to hear but I think the best.

I would keep my mouth shut. Unless you are really good friends with him. If he believes you and jumps the gun and quits, he wouldn't qualify for unemployment and could lose his severance package if he gets one. Or maybe you are wrong and he's not getting fired and you are just spreading the newest office rumor, which doesn't make you look good. If I were you, I would stay out of it. Even if it's true, you can't change what's going to happen.

This is a hard question to answer. It depends on the relationship you have with him. If you are friends and trust him not to say anything, then I would probably tell him what you've heard. If not, I guess I'd let it go. Be careful because it could backfire on you if word gets out that you told him.Good luck.

Yes i would, wouldnt you like to know if it was you and anyway how comes you know before him thats not very professional. Just let him know indirectly other wise your be heading for the chopping block and if he doesnt know where it came from it wont hurt you. If he knows he could at least prepare himself, imagine how hes going to feel, and anyway the big mouth that told you deserves a showdown, teach them a lesson on how to be professional .

Spread a rumour he is up for a big raise make sure he finds out so his hopes are high and when he gets called in he will go in all smiles and come out crushed, you could even get a congratulations banner to rub a little more salt in the wound.

Keep your mouth shut - Ignorance is bliss, plus if you spill, then you and whoever told you may also end up being for the chop for spilling!

Keep Quiet if you want to keep your Job. Meddling in things at work can cause too many problems. It's hard if you like him, but you don't want to have people who are higher up than you on your back!
