They have meters and parking areas that make it so hard to go to the resturants and other places , that you have to pay so much to park and no one likes to go down there because of this problem , you have to run out no matter where you are to keep putting money in a meter . They want everyone to come to town but they make it so hard for people to do this . Is it like this in every State ?

I noticed that too in Cincy... I like how they have it set up in Newport.... one BIG parking garage for everything on the Levee...makes sense, and its only...$2 to park there during weekdays?? but $5 on the weekend. Not too bad tho.. I think its a smart idea. Plus... you can park on the Levee, and just walk across the Ohio River to visit Cincinnati.... I've done it.. it's fun walking over the river, and its good exercise!

Uh- have you ever been to any other city? They are all like that, Cincinnati is nothing different in that regard. Part of the reason for meters, in addition to raising funds for the city, is to encourage people to "move on" rather than taking up spaces all day. Merchants dont like it when all the spots in front of their store are taken up all day by people that work in offices, or go off to see a Reds game or whatever, and can leave their cars their all day because its free.

There are ways to get around this.

One is to park in the lot under Fountain Square. It's cheap (and sometimes free).

Another is to take the bus downtown, which is better for the environment and helps reduce traffic congestion. And you don't have to spend any time looking for a parking spot.

Check out the links below for more information. :)

It's just like that in Fort Wayne Indiana. They have some big wig here now that made another city more appealing to go downtown and now he's trying it with Ft. Wayne.

I live here. Downtown is a dangerous place. A friend of mind got mugged just because of his race. Go to Blue Ash and live.
