Yes, but it also depends on why and how the company is using this footage? If it is to show you took a 20 minute break instead of a 15 and lied, yes that can be used internally. However, any taping is not admissible in a court of law unless you have full knowledge and consent to be taped, this they may have worked into something you signed when you took employment with said company.

I believe that it is legal only in the MOST public areas
Not like individual cubicals and so forth.

It didnt use to be legal in th USA..I don't know anymore with the patriot act stuff.
