When Melissa Gilbert was a little girl, everyone thought she was kind of ugly but when she got older and was married to Almanzo Wilder, she was very pretty and it seems her facial features had really changed. Did she have plastic surgery or just make a dramatic change with growing older?

She was a bit scraggly when she was younger, but she's beautiful now!! Some women just get prettier with age. Cool question!!!

Truly an amazing transformation. I do not believe she has ever had any work. I've known several people that made a similar transformation, me for one.
I was as ugly as ugly came... not anymore..
4 years of braces really helped that alot, as I had a horrible over bite.. Thats enough to make anyone ugly. - - lol

Great question. She had braces. Her bucked teeth as a youth just kinda added to the reality of the show. Puberty does quite a lot to a young woman.

She got her buck teeth fixed. In fact while playing little Laura, she had a retainer that was used between scenes. She needed braces at an early age but couldn't get them because of the role she was playing. Braces didn't exist during that era.

It was just her growing up I think. I have seen that transformation though. I have know of girls who have always just looked like little girls, then one day you see them and they look like women all of the sudden.
I think it was just growing older.

I'd think she's had plastic surgery. Definitely by now. also she does commercials for some of that special face wash so maybe that helps her too.

She obviously appears to have had some surgery on her nose, at least. It is a different shape and smaller. That doesn't happen because of age!

no, she just grew out of the awkward stage is all...
if you see her now, she has aged very naturally, not like the "joker" pullback face mess a lot of people who do plas surge seem to have...

she grew up and to my knowledge she didn't have any surgery, and I think when alot of people grow up they lose those baby look.
