do you know the heartbeat?
Well then, according to the wives tale (which I've seen to be very accurate, even with my own child) I would say a girl. But it's not always accurate.
Congrats either way!

I think the tech was being a butthole or he had no experience I found out at 18 weeks the woman who has done all mine always says you want to know she can tell me how much my kids weigh and everything I'm sure at 17 weeks they could tell I always believed in the heartrate thing too up until recently I'm 27 weeks pregnant the rate was in the 160's until 3 weeks ago and I found out I'm having a boy at 18 weeks I think it depends on how active they are but good luck

I would really wait until 20-25 weeks thats usually the earliest I have ever heard anyone be able to tell for a close to definite I knows it's exciting and hard to wait but don't start picking out nursery colors until you get a later ultrsound and confirmation.

Frankie say: RELAX! So many parents go in and find out that their precious infant has a birth defect or like myself, that "the fetus is no longer viable" (med-speak for a miscarriage) and that was at 20 and 21 weeks respectively after I had felt the baby kick. You will find out soon enough.
In the meantime, buy yellow stuff.

Mine was very obvious at 21 weeks (boy). She even took a picture. How long had your tech been doing ultrasounds? Mine had 25 years of experience, so I trusted her.

I had the same problem with my little girl. I just had her Jan. 25th. When i was 18 weeks i had my first ultrasound then and they couldnt tell me if i was having a girl or a boy. I had to wait until i was 28 weeks before we were sure.

some people can tell very clearly at 16-20 weeks, but not all. babies develop at different rates. between 20-25 weeks is best. at least he didn't give you an answer based on what he thought it was.
