I had a partial hysterectomy on jan 19th and took 2 weeks off work to stay home, no driving car and relax. I took all doctor's instructions. I came back to work this past tuesday with doc's approval. I feel almost normal I'm just following 1 last instruction: short walks for 4 weeks. Anyway, this coming weekend is my best friend's b-day that lives in Pittsburg, PA (i live in MD it's 3hrs away). I want to know if it would be okay if I go out there to celebrate to take her out to the bars and have fun like a normal person???? By then it would be 3 weeks after my surgery.

If you went, you should not be up doing any dancing. Limit your drinking. You dont realize how much your body is still healing. I had a hysterectomy and I wasnt up to doing anything for a good 2 months. Going to work and sitting behind a desk even took it out of me. Your health is more important then partying.

I had a total hyster myself and it took at least 4 weeks to start feeling halfway normal. I believe the going out to party a bit would be ok if you not dancing, Just take it easy if you do go. My concern would be that 3 hours drive? ARe you staying there after you go out to party? That is way too long a drive by yourself. I would not recommend it at this point. Sorry. However, you could call your doctor, see what they recommend.

This all depends on how you feel at the time. Only you will know if you feel up for it. Just remember that it's a long drive and you may be too tired to have fun after you get there. Maybe you could send her a card with an "IOU A NIGHT ON THE TOWN" in it. I'm sure your friend will understand. Feel better soon!

Sorry this will not be want you want to hear. You should ask your Doctor. When I had surgery I relaxed with no long drives or "partying" for about 5 weeks. Let your body heal before you exert yourself and you hurt more.

3 weeks is not enough time to fully heal any injury, the wounds from surgery may look pretty good, but they are still vulnerable on the inside especially.
but that's not to say you cant go out and have a good time, just keep it in the back of your mind, that you are still in recovery, and you need to take it easy (physically, and on the drinks) since alcohol thins blood and lowers its pressure, it will hinder your healing for a short time, even after the effects of it are gone.
so, as long as you dont do any back flips and you drink responsibly, AND YOUR DOCTOR AGREES, then sure, go out and have fun.

Sounds like a great idea, just dont over drink now.
Take B vitamins for all that drinkin, alcohol drains the B vitamins.

Ask your doctor before you go...you don't wanna be stuck in Pittsburg at a hospital.

I would say no dancing, no heavy drinking, and no sex... well, giving a guy a bj probably wouldn't hurt anything, but no vaginal or anal sex.
