Hi there. My best was Pink Floyd "The Wall" concert from the early 80's. apart from being brilliant music, the show was immense - they started by crashing an aeroplane onto the stage! As the concert continued, roadies built a huge white wall across the stage, designed that the last things left in view were the musicians. Once the wall was complete, a huge puppet teacher menaced the crowd while vast flying pigs with red eyes circled overhead. then they started a cartoon show projected onto the wall that was absolutely brilliant, while te Floyd played behind it.
The finale came when the wall is ordered destroyed - so they collpase it on the stage and the band are finally exposed for their true selves.
Got to tell you, this had everything - music, performance, drama, magic, crazy crowd. they should put this on at the West End and forget that Queen and Abba claptrap. Wow!
Thanks for the question, happiest of memories, never forgotten.
Cheers, Steve.

U2, 2001 - front row in the pit during the All That You Can't Leave Behind Tour. It was the 2nd show of the tour in Miami. Unbelievable. The surge at the beginning of Where the Streets Have No Name is the greatest rush in live music.
U2, 2005 - In the heart during the Vertigo tour with my fiancee. Philadelphia. Springsteen came out for a song. Two music heroes on the stage at once. Wow.
AC/DC, 2001 Miami. Incredible show. They shook it all night long. Truly a great show.

those are those that i really be apologetic about no longer seeing stay after I likely might want to have if I wasn't so stupid! The Beatles interior the 60's. Led Zeppelin between 1969-1973. Queen between 1973-1975. David Bowie between 1970-1974. Black Sabbath between 1970-1975. pink Floyd interior the 70's. BA: no longer wide awake of those albums.

Hard question! Download festival in Donnington 2004 was incredible (Metallica, Electric Six being the real highlights) and Live 8 was a great day (got to be Robbie as the best act but Stereophonics and Elton John rocked too).
Best one band concert has to be Tenacious D in London back in december last year - the show was incredible, the guys were really funny and the anticipation at seeing one of my favourite bands made it such a special night!

Paul Simon in Birmingham back in the 80's. He ripped a nail part way through and couldn't play guitar throughout the concert, by way of an apology he performed 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' A Capella, I don't know how many people the Birmingham NEC holds but as the last note died away there was no a sound, not even the sound of thousands breathing.................. then a roar of approval so great it almost did raise the roof. The hair stands up on the back of my neck just thinking about it!

Therapy? in manchester 1998 - first time i'd seen my favourite band and the didn't disappoint right at the front in the pit, they were just as awesome the next year and everytime i see them.
Close second for me was Audioslave at the MEN in 2005, Chris Cornell doing Killing in the Name - brilliant.
Download 2005 was pretty special, Sabbath, Anthrax, System, to name but a few shame i snapped a ligament in my ankle the week before and couldn't mosh - was still great tho

Yep, great question; and yep, a toughie to choose!
Some of mine have already been chosen, so I'll go for The Grateful Dead, Wembley Arena, Halloween night 1993. Coach trip down from Derby, getting well stoned, all the costumed Deadheads in the crowd (more yanks than brits, I swear!)Scored some hash fudge in the interval.
Oh yeah, and the band were amazing as well!

My son's band and their first gig - nah really these two ... which were many years ago ...............
Led Zeppelin at Knebworth circa 1978-79 last concert in the UK - truly magnificent - purely from a musical point of view and them being the best band ever to rock !!!
The 2nd best and one that couldn't be anymore removed from Zep' was Kate Bush - her first concert ever at the Liverpool Empire - completely different sound - and was like a play - she is an extra special vocalist .. listen to her ... plus she looks good Mmmm xxx
Although if my son's band do make it - no doubt their first major concert will out do any concert that has ever taken place anywhere !!!!

Muse at Newcastle Arena in November last year. I'd always kind of liked them and had wanted to see them but was put off cos i was told they play loads of stuff you probably wouldn't know. Went along with an open mind and was totally blown away.
They play/sing/perform better live than on record and put on a fab show, the set/lights were great, really wow! and they actually played all the hits and there was just a great atmosphere. I was on a high for weeks after it was that good and am going to see them twice at Wembley in the summer because they were that brilliant.

George Harrison at the Royal Albert Hall, April 1992.
Great to see an ex-Beatle perform his one and only high profile solo concert in Britain.
A truly moving and superb concert and touching to know that it was his last ever proper concert. And Ringo turned up for the encore as well!!
