A Toyota 4Runner is a four wheel drive vehicle ( hence the "4" in 4Runner ). I own one. Your options are vast regarding tire choices. Get any tires with an "M + S" rating. This stands for mud and snow. They will offer fair traction in all but the most severe road conditions and still give you a quiet and comfortable operation on the highway. Any tire retailer will have an abundance of choices, in every price range you can imagine; from $50 to $350 each. There are too many good tire brands to mention here. I suggest you go look at them. There are DOT codes stamped on each tire that describe the its traits - but for your purposes, any modern, new tire will suffice.

I find it hard to believe that you own a 4 wheel drive SUV and you don't even know it.

You need a good "Highway" tread with a high tread wear (no less than 500). You DO NOT have to buy a brand name tire to get quality. Most Private label tires are manufactured by the major companies & most private lable tires have more warranties (automatically) with out havint to pay extra for it. If you give me the size of the tires I will be happy to educate you on a fair price, brand & type ect... lisa@hightower.net

If I remember correctly, the 4Runner requires a strange size tire. When I checked for a friend a while back, Sam's Club had the best price of anyone when you include all the extra charges. Sam's doesn't overcharge for balancing, valve stems, etc.
