Every other day my husband brings up what he wants if we were to get divorced. If he was as happy as he thinks he was why would he tell me that? I am no longer happy in our marriage because of the way he acts.He no longer listens to what I have to say, all he talks about is the fire department or EMT class, or who got picked on at work. The question is, If he was as happy as he thinks he was why would he be telling me what he wants in a divorce?

He wasn't like this when we married, but it seemed to start just afew months after our son was born.

I am not self-center. I don't draw attention to myself. It's just nice to know that I am alive to someone.

my mom keep my son every friday night. All he does is pray for a fire/wreck call to come in, or he'll leave to hang out at the station. If I try to start a conversation with him he'll just start talking about other things.

He doesn't have the guts to tell you, he just acts that inconsiderate so you will divorce him first, so at some level he won't feel "guilty" and be able to say that you left him. If you are no longer happy maybe you should consider leaving him. It's a big decision to take, so consider all the aspects. Good luck.

Why do you keep saying "if he was as happy as he thinks"? He ISN'T happy!
*YOU* think he's supposed to be happy. But he is clearly unhappy.
While he is excited about the job, he's like a child. Happiness is everything in his mind. Plus some drama. That's what - age 13? My god. Was he like this when you married him, or did he suddenly change? If he was like this, why on earth did you marry a guy who is 13 emotionally? That's for another day but it speaks volumes about you.
OKay let's review:
[1] he only talks about himself
[2] his happiness is THE GOAL above all others in life
[3] he doesn't listen to you
[4] he openly mentions how wonderful life would be after divorcing you.
geezus i'd be worried the guy would smother me with a pillow the next time i dozed off.
Let's see - what else does he have to do to get the hint across? Drop a cartoon safe on your head?
Have you walked up to him and called his bluff and said - "Okay - you want a divorce? Well guess what buddy - so do i!"
End it. He's an idiot.

It is not uncommon for a marriage to right in the crappier after a child is born, one of those little secrets no-one tells you till its too late. If your child is an infant maybe he is having trouble adjusting to his new responsibilities and maybe he sees getting out of the marriage as the way out. If your child is older though clearly this is the way things are going to be and if you are unhappy to it might be time to consider divorce. Have you tried counseling yet - sometimes that helps.

If you are no longer happy in the marriage then he can see this and is bringing it up to you just in case you are wanting to leave. All you are doing in your question is complaining about him and then asking why would he be talking about a divorce? You are not really this self centered are you?

I'm so sorry about your situation, but have you ask yourself if his seeing another woman, thats why he keeps talking about divorce? Do yourself a favor, next time he did this again, ignore him, always remember that it takes two to tango........I wish you luck............

Asked, and answered. I think he wants a divorce. If he doesn't acknowledge you, you should too.
