Like it or not, if Roe v Wade were overturned tomorrow, all that means is that there is not a constitutional right to one, and the issue returns to the states. Several large states, like NY, NJ, California, Illinois, and others - with a very high percentage of the national population - would keep abortion legal.

And, are the pro-life forces prepared to take pregnant women into custody to prevent them from seeking abortions?

Isn't moral persuasion the way to go to reduce abortions?

Moral persuasion, anbd providing aid to pregnant women, which many pro-life groups do.

I think you hit on a key factor here: Is moral persuasion (a.k.a. coercion) the way to reduce abortions?

No. Abortion is a symptom of a deeper rooted problem, which starts in the heart. In theory, you may be able to physically keep a woman from getting an abortion if she could be jailed or something, but that wouldn't change her perspective that the unborn baby is simply a "collection of cells" that happens to be inconvenient at this point in her life. She may not call it murder, but if she's willing to have her child vacuumed out of her own uterus, then that will be her mindset and her heart, whether she actually undergoes the procedure or not.

And therein lies the problem.

We've taught entire generations of young ladies that abortion is simply another method of birth control, instead of the murder it really is. We've taught them that promiscuous sex is not only okay, but it is the "norm" where most consequences (like unwanted pregnancy or herpes or whatever) can be dealt with in some fashion or other. We can either "kill it' or "medicate it", but we're teaching that having the freedom to have promiscuity is more important that living responsibly. Or having a heart for others....including our own unborn children.

Remember the line from the movie "Jurassic Park", where the female scientist and the founder of the park are talking about trying to bring everything back under control. The girl basically says it is an illusion to think there had ever been any control, much less think he could reign everything back in, once chaos erupted. As she said, "That power is OUT there now!"

She was implying they couldn't possibly go back to where they were before they had discovered how to generate life from old DNA and produced an island full of dinosaurs.....I think legal abortion is much like that, except we've discovered how to terminate generations of life and do it with government and societal sanctions.

No, we can't go back. All we can do is hope to teach future generations of young women much better things than we are currently doing, so they will make sound, loving, honest choices on their own....choices that won't place them at risk or put them in a position to have to choose between raising an unwanted child or murdering an unborn one.

I got diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about 3 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/QfgdE everything changed.

Not only was I able to eliminate all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This method gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

Wisconsin and South Dakota and some other states have banned abortion. Approximately 31 states have made abortion laws stricter

people do need educated on why pro life is the right thing,
but we have more people screaming about how pro life people are jamming it down their throats so nobody wants to listen.

I always support the opinion that, everyone should be able to do whatever they want with their body and with anything "inside their body". As long as you don't affect anyone else.
In my country we are having the same discussion about abortion in case of violation and for therapeutic reasons (mother's life is in danger)

It had better be or women may just start aborting religious nuts no matter their age and the politicians that listen to them too. No breaks here you right to life nutso-s. Take away womens rights and we will help them rise up and smite your "religious" azz.

Yes, legal abortion is here to stay. It doesn't matter what those pro-lifers say.
