I wouldn't say you are farther along just having a bigger baby than what is "average" When I had a 20 week ultrasound when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter they said she weighed 1 pound 11 ounces. She was born weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces. Also remember that these weights are just estimates going off of babies measurements so they can be off.

I'm 22 weeks now and also had an ultrasound at 19 weeks. They told me my baby was 11oz, which is also bigger than what most websites and books I've read say it should be. They told me my baby was in the 47th percentile meaning that my baby is bigger than 47% of all babys at the same gestational age. They told me that's right on. Chances are you're pregnancy is calculated correctly if you know the date of your Last Menstral Period (LMP). I wouldn't stress about it based on what my doctor told me, this is a good thing. As long as the baby isn't overly large for its gestational age, which could indicate gestational diabetes or something. But- if you're really concerned, ask the doctor. It never hurts!

Thses things are just an estimate. if the tech saw that you were farther along then they most likely would have said something. not every baby is 8 ounces at 19 weeks everyone is different

That is more than typical. At 19 weeks being pregnant, which stands out as the identical as 17 weeks of gestation, babies weigh on ordinary 7 oz. Even at 19 weeks gestation it would mostly be about 10-11 oz. Might it be you're extra along than you thought?

Via the ultrasound, we can say it is only an estimation and not 100% accurate. Comparing the size or the weight of your baby with others or references is not important. All you should know during each visit to the clinic is that whether YOUR BABY IS HEALTHY, that is what i think you should care about more. Good luck!

the weight is just a guess-tamate, there's no way they can say 100% that ur baby is 13 ounces. don't worry, all those books that ur reading take an average weight of hundreds of pregnancy weights! mind...could just mean u have a huge baby! like mine has a huge head..lol...and me best m8s has huge log legs! apparently my baby weight abt 1lb-ish at the mo, but dnt worry abt d weight, its when they tell u ur baby's less developed than they wanted taht u need 2 start worrying

they could be wrong about the weight, this is very common. I was told my babies were a certain weight, and turns out they weren't. don't worry you're not gonna have a huge baby! It's very common to be a few weeks further along than you originally thought. Blood work can confirm exactly how far along you are within a few days!

What those books give you is just an average. You seem to have a bit of an above average baby in there!!
It's not uncommon for the sonographer to be off a little bit as well.
Congrats on your chunky monkey!!!!

everything i read said that my baby at 10 oz at 20 weeks was perfectly average, but my doctor said that was a little on the small side. just go by what your midwife or doctor tells you.

If there was something unusual about the ultrasound the technician would have let the doctor know right away. Don't be alarmed.
