My Husband and I have a really nice apartment. It is rather large but only has one bedroom. We only pay $450.00 a month and the utility bills are really low also. We know all of our neighbors really well and the landlord is such a sweet heart and let us have our cute 3lbs puppy, now full grown and still weighs 3lbs :) and our cat spaz. The question is I am 5 weeks pregnant and just wondering if it is normal to not want to get up and move right away? I think that if we stayed here and payed off the rest of our "debt " we can have a fresh start when our baby comes, it makes a lil more sence to me? Granted a lot of our wedding stuff is in our storage above our closets b/c we just didnt have enough room for everything but should we stretch ourselves out and splurge on a bigger apartment? or wait a year or so till our financial situation is all clear? Is it ok to have a baby in a 1 br apt?

Yes we can afford a 2 br but we can not get a house right now due to my hubbys credit. We are currently working on that. We both have full time jobs and live comfortably : ) We would only stay in this apt for maybe a year or so after our baby is born. Just to be 100% finacially happy if there is a such thing lol*.

i am in the same situation as you are. my husband and I have decided to stay in our very nice and roomy one bedroom apartment ($275/mo) and finish paying off our debt and school loans so that we can get a house and be financially comfortable. we plan on doing so for no more than a year. like you we have alot of things in storage also but i think that the sacrifice now will be worth it when we get a house and can be comfortable with the bills. i am 30 weeks pregnant. good luck with the baby!

Personally I co-sleep so a one bedroom apartment would be fine. Also (having not seen the size of your bedroom obviously) you can put a crib in your bedroom. Sleeping in the same room as mom has been shown to reduce SIDS. So that is probably a good idea as well.

Personally I would wait. Paying off your debts may allow you to stay home which is by far better for a small child. And trust me for the first probably 6 months your baby isn't going to want to be more than 12" away from you *lol* so it doesn't matter where you live.

My cousins didn't move from their one bedroom until their daughter was a year or more. They were saving up for a house. Now she has her own room and a yard, and is very happy.

definitely stay and build your funds. You said it's a large 1 bedroom right? I'm sure the baby will be in the crib and I'm a mother and I know you even if you had a seperate bedroom for your child you will not leave it alone so whats the difference. Maybe you may save enough to buy your own house. $450 is very good! DONT MOVE MOMMY!

I would have to say wait and save up your money and pay off bills before you move!! A baby will be in your room for a while anyway!! A 1 bedroom apt is tiny but can you afford more? Good luck to you?

There's no reason to up and move yet ,a newborn should sleep in your room for awhile (in my opinion ) anyway . But with a baby comes alot of stuff . So i'd prepare to move when the baby is about 6months old. They need room to crawl around . Good Luck

I was in the same situation. Me and my husband stayed in our apartment until my son was 1. I found out I was prengnant again with my second child and by then we paid all our debt and after he was born - we moved into a manufactured house with a fresh start - it's good to stay where you are, it's ver, VERY smart. Good luck!

You need to find out what the laws are because in some states you have to have a second bedroom if you have a child over a certain age.

in basic terms you may answer this one. I very plenty be attentive to the way it feels wanting your person place to strengthen your infant in, together as on the comparable time this is substantial try to supply your self minimum tension together as pregnant. in basic terms you be attentive to the quantity of the fights you have including your boyfriend. in case you do no longer think of you may desire to deal with residing together, are you useful he's your destiny? could it possibly be achieveable to have your boyfriend circulate in with you at your father and mom' abode in the intervening time? That way you've gotten a taster of residing together, he will have the potential to be around for the newborn extra whilst it arrives and you together as you're pregnant, yet whilst issues do no longer artwork out you will no longer have the priority of a settlement on a house and furnishings to shift approximately and a substantial way of existence substitute to get used to. And if issues do artwork out residing together at your father and mom', possibly then you definately can evaluate installation your person place slightly later down the line.
