Depends on who's fault it was causing the first marriage to end....It you caused it by running around with someone else, then the answer is no. If your partner was the bad one then answer is yes.......also depends on what church you belong to.

Yes you can but some churches are quite choosy about divorcees. I married for the 2nd time in a church where as the 1st was at the reg office, but we had to shop around and then got to meet the vicar in which then we had to attend 6 hour long evening sessiohns talking about the importance on marriage and taking the vows, we even had to complete a sexual questionnaire, i found this kind of strange in a way where i was the victim of my 1st husbands sleezy goings on. All the best

Not unless it's a non-demoninational church. To get married a second time in a church often requires an annulment and please don't think this is going to be an easy ordeal. You have to prove why the church should void the first marriage and they normally have a set of strict guidelines. Even if you are already divorced, have another ceremony in a church, the church will not recognize the symbolic meaning of becoming one in the unity of marriage. It's an odd rule, but it is meant to deter people from divorce.

In the Catholic church you can't get married a second time if you're divorced - you can only get married again if the first marriage was annuled. Other Christian religions have different rules - I know ELCA Lutherans can get married in the church if they're divorced but I can't say for sure about the others. I also don't know the rules of the non-Christian churches.

It depends on your circumstances. I was married the first time in a registry office, and for the second time in a Catholic church. Both my second husband and i, as Catholics, were accepted to be married in the church because both our first marriages had taken place in registry offices and the church doesnt accept them as true marriages. I suggest you go and see your local vicar/priest, but dont tell any lies. You may be able to have a blessing if you cant actually get married in the church.

If the first marriage was in a church, you need to get an annullment first. If it wasn't, you can get married in church the second time as the church does not recognize marriages that were not performed in a church.

A cousin who was Catholic married a 2nd time in a church but she had to go to a United Church to do it. It really depends on the beliefs and teachings of the church as to whether it is acceptable to perform a 2nd marriage for you.

Best thing is to speak to the Pastor, Reverand, Minister, Priest, Vicar what ever...of the church you wish to exchange your vows in and then go from there.

Good luck

You can in the UK in the Anglican church, but even then it depends on the vicar of the parish.

You may have to attend marriage and relationship counselling sessions and be interviewed as to why you wish to marry. We did.

My advice is to contact your local diocese office and find out which churches in your area offer marriage services to divorcees.

Yes, if you have been widowed or the marriage anulled. This is in the Catholic Church. What religion are you asking about. Most will let you have a Preacher marry you, but out of Church grounds.
